Tillogram

Hi All

@tyme @AuntGlow @Jynx @rav3n @MJG017 @NightFury @Shaz51 @MissGremlin @Appleblossom @Dimity and many others I have accidentally forgotten to tag

Just letting people know I am back safely from my trip.

I had a great trip, my sport event was brilliant and then I travelled a little bit.

Not sure how much engagement I will have with forums as only just returned to this cold weather!

I'm not sure what's been happening, but I hope everyone is well.

Re: Tillogram

Yes! @Till23 Prescribed retail therapy but I haven't managed to buy anything I can get an oomph out of yet. Bit depressing.

Sorry to hear that today was hard. As I read your post, it makes me think of a time I sat outside a hospital crying... it's not a memry I want to go back to so I can only imagine how hard it was for you.

Hugs @Till23 . You mean a lot to us and we hope we can ride this wave together.

I can see that sometimes you are alone in doing things, but it doesn't mean. you feel lonely. Then there are times we are not alone, but we certainly feel lonely.

We are here for you.

Have you heard of social prescribing? It's becoming more and more common now.

Re: Tillogram

@Till23 time to grieve (instead of keeping on keeping on) sounds very reasonable to me.

I took a whole year off at one stage, to allow me to focus on my own MH recovery. It was the best year I can remember of my life so far. I felt "the least depressed" that I can remember. I was able to spend time doing what I needed to do (or not doing when I needed to rest).

I hope this can help encourage you that it is OK to take time out to look after yourself..

Put on your oxygen mask, put on the life vest. Prepare safety for yourself first. 🥰

Re: Tillogram

I am not good at retail therapy @tyme. I am terrible at buying things like clothes or trinket things. I'm very practical food, things you need for house, eveen then I don't have many gadgets. I find it doesn't work for me because later I think I wasted money or harmed planet by buying unecessary things.

It's the formal end of my career

I often feel lonely when I do things but I push myself. I can feel alone both when physically alone and in a crowd - I have difficulties with connection.

I sort of do social prescribing for myself.

I will now do three different types of social exercise, my volunteer job in the "soup kitchen", my LE stuff is F2F and I'm also learning a social game

At least you haven't wasred too much money on your retail therapy then !

Re: Tillogram

Thanks @AlwaysMyself previously it was hard to take time out because of finances, and trying to get ahead and feel worth in society.

I am glad you had the ability to do that. I know stress is not helpful for me now whereas before I thought I needed it.

Even though I wished that I could just get away from busyness of life.

I do not get any benefits etc.

I did retire early due to MH but I am having difficulty slowing down because I am used to doing things. I dream of going to some out of the way place and getting away from it all. I have thought of ways I could do that. The last few years I haven't been able to because I neede to be near big towns/cities for cancer traetment, then I needed to look after my Dad. But I probably could now and am seriously considering it, so thank you for reminding me.

I've got to log off because have to be awake in a few hours for a webinar.

Hope you have a good evening until we chat next
