Tillogram

Hi All

@tyme @AuntGlow @Jynx @rav3n @MJG017 @NightFury @Shaz51 @MissGremlin @Appleblossom @Dimity and many others I have accidentally forgotten to tag

Just letting people know I am back safely from my trip.

I had a great trip, my sport event was brilliant and then I travelled a little bit.

Not sure how much engagement I will have with forums as only just returned to this cold weather!

I'm not sure what's been happening, but I hope everyone is well.

Re: Tillogram

Yes @Shaz51 I still have my mother, but I don't think for much longer, and I have a couple of siblings. None of my family live near me. You are younger than me, but I have also retired and am trying to support myself until I become eligible for pension. Working so much though has meant I have got Super, which I am using up now. Although I've had cancers and I have this inflammatory/immune disease, my health is good enough to do things and travel a bit without worrying about being near health-care, so I'm lucky there.

Yes. I know there are people who have children and partners and are lonely, but I feel it's different never having had the experience of either, so it's difficult to feel worthwhile myself, when no-one else has thought that.

Hello @Till23 ,

How was your weekend? Have you recovered from your trip?

Re: Tillogram

Hi @tyme I had recovered physically from my trip to Queensland.

Now, however, I have a cold, which is fairly bad, but because of my underlying lung condition is pretty bad. I'm very tired and feel like my head is full, like I have cognitive dysfunction. It will be affecting my MH.

I feel as though I'm being a bit of a wuss, because it's just a cold.

I haven't been able to do my sport or much around the house, so I feel bad about that.

Just sticking it on the bottom of the list of things that make me useless.

I have been doing a bit of stuff for sport club today, just on the phone for a meeting and computer stuff, but feel exhausted.

I don't know

Anyhow, enough about negative nancy me, how are you going?

Re: Tillogram

On no @Till23 . Sitll not over the cold? I know how you are always on the go. Maybe your body is asking for a rest?

Do you have a lot planned for the week ahead, or will you rest up?

I've been invited out to lunch tomorrow, so I may go and then take the kids to the science museum or the beach tomorrow.

Kids have one more week of holidays.

Re: Tillogram

I've only had the cold a couple of days @tyme I think this is the worst day so far, I'll have to be careful overnight as I'm having difficulty breathing (not requiring medical intervention) - it will probably pass. I can't lie flat I realised earlier, so might have to sleep sitting up, I've done that before with my lung condition.

I should have had enough rest after getting back from trip, although I refuse to believe my condition is causing me fatigue, so maybe I do need more rest. I don't know. I'm starting to cramp up now, so better try and sit in a relaxed way. The constant coughing is not helping!

I have that Not Good Enough Feeling if I can't do things

I think I better call in sick for volunteering on tuesday.

Oh that sounds like a nice day @tyme.

This is the first week of school holidays here, I try to limit going anywhere in school holidays to avoid crowds.

Re: Tillogram

Ahem my dear @Till23 I'm going to lovingly point out some contradictions in your post 🥰😋 in the hope it may help you frame those contradicting thoughts any maybe a bit more positive lift and self-caring love to you. I am 100% saying this from a caring friend way, and 100% not saying it from a telling you what to do/think way! You are free to ignore this post if you wish 🥰.

Its not "just a cold" for you -- you have a lung condition that makes it much more serious and difficult. And im guessing maybe even a longer recovery time?

Not a wuss, just saying. 😉

You are not useless - you just said you've still been able to do some sports club things, even though its been very exhausting. Pretty sure the sports club wouldn't say you were being useless. 😊

(And of course its natural for us not to be able to do things as we normally can whilst we are sick. Adding things to the "to do when better" list is totally normally in my world.)

Still hoping this cold passes for you soon and your body gets good rest tonight and strength for your immune system to fight it off. ❤️‍🩹

The cold will pass. And then you will feel less useless again. Hang in there mate!

Re: Tillogram

Thanks @AlwaysMyself I'm very thankful that you posted and I am taking it in. My brain feels like it's full of cotton wool, so cognitive function is not great. So it's good to have someone else to run things past.

Yes, probably will take longer to get over (which I won't like).

I find it really hard to give myself permission just to rest. I haven't always had the ability to do that in my life. I'm kind of used to putting other people's needs (or even wishes) before mine.

Yeah the cold will definitely pass. I will try and get a good as rest as I can tonight

Thanks for posting.

How have you been going?

Re: Tillogram

Sending you many safe hugs @Till23 . Friends can be good for running things by indeed. 🥰

Hope you will be able to put your health needs first for rest this week. 😊 the sooner you are fully better the sooner and more fully you can return to helping others 😉😉.

Im doing ok considering all the stressful events currently happening around me. Probably turn in for the night soon. Got to work tomorrow.

Re: Tillogram

Oh what stressful events @AlwaysMyself only of you want to say. I'm sorry, I've pretty much only been looking at posts I've been tagged in tonight.

Yes, thankfully I don't need to go to work tomorrow - I definitely couldn't do that, but not needing means one less thing to feel guilty about

Re: Tillogram

It's the second week of holz here now. It must be stressful when there are so many more kids out and about @Till23 . It's a bit like going to the shops on weekends or after school... it's hectic!

I hope you feel better soon and the worst of the cold is over.

Are there things you keep occupied with at home?

Oh, and thanks for adding your thoughts in the other two threads I tagged you into. I always love reading your responses. I hope you don't feel they are Not Good Enough responses because all your posts are far from it.

We appeciate you and all you have to add.
