Tillogram

Hi All

@tyme @AuntGlow @Jynx @rav3n @MJG017 @NightFury @Shaz51 @MissGremlin @Appleblossom @Dimity and many others I have accidentally forgotten to tag

Just letting people know I am back safely from my trip.

I had a great trip, my sport event was brilliant and then I travelled a little bit.

Not sure how much engagement I will have with forums as only just returned to this cold weather!

I'm not sure what's been happening, but I hope everyone is well.

Re: Tillogram

Hi @tyme sorry I didn't get to answering your question last evening. I was extremely tired and also I was a bit confused because I could not really understand what you were asking me and I kind of wasn't in the right headspace to try and work it out.

You said:

"Do you think this has been any different to what it was in the past? Or do you think the perception is different? I'm not sure, but I'm open to your thoughts"

However, I wasn't sure what "this" was so I didn't know how to answer.

I know that I have been a bit distressed lately and I probably and seeing things in the opposite of rose coloured glasses. But I don't know what specifically you are referring to

Hey @Till23 , no stress.

When I posted "this", I was referring to the response pattern/timing etc. I had a deep think about it and I don't think there has been many a time where we keep responding back and forth without longer breaks. I don't feel I have extended the response time or anything. It's often so great to see the peer support you are providing and receiving from others, that we haven't had to step in much.

Seeing this is a peer-to-peer platform, we do certainly promote and encourage members to connect with each other. And yes, there are also times where community builders need to step in.

I'm open to hearing your thoughts.

I hope things have been bit better for you.

Hi there @Zoe7 @AlwaysMyself 🙂

Re: Tillogram

Oh my goodness, that sounds very intense - are you coping okay? @Till23

I am glad that people were able to support you, it certainly sounds anxiety-provoking. Weather stuff can be truly frightening.

How are you feeling about your appointments?

I found somewhere, yay! Will move on the 15th, now I just have to pack. Thank you for asking!

Yes, I did a little group broadway jazz routine for a show, it was very fun, camp, and silly. I am looking forward to exploring more of my creativity again now that my injuries have healed a bit. It was hard getting back into it after some time off, which I am sure you can understand with your sport practice.

How is that going this week? ☺️

Re: Tillogram

Thanks for your response @tyme I don't know who community builders are, I don't think I have heard that term before. I still don't think I understand your response, I feel a bit silly now.

Re: Tillogram

Hey @Till23 ,

Not at all. We are not saying you shouldn't tag people, or mods, but moreso that this space is open for all to respond to freely each other and provide peer support to one another.

Members have differing needs at different times of their recovery, and the role of PSWs/Community Builders/Mods involves a triaging system for all posts.

There are some posts that we HAVE to respond to first before others, according to our triaging system.

And part of the data collected includes response times to these posts, and whether they have been adequately resolved.

Sorry, I might be making it sound too complicated.

Please know that we are not ignoring you or choosing not to respond.

Hope this gives you a snapshot of what a day on shift looks like.

Re: Tillogram

Oh I'm so glad you found a place @AuntGlow it is so hard these days. I hope you did not have to compromise your list of "wants" in securing the place.

Oh wow that show sounds interesting is that like a community theatre/musical group? I used to do technical crew stuff for amateur theatre - like stage management. I vaguely thought of trying to get back into that one I'd retired.

Hope you ahve a lovely evening and can bask in your couple of huge achievements - housing and performing

Re: Tillogram

Hey @Till23 I have read some of the other posts on this thread as well as yours. I can see you have been a bit confused and/or hurt by some responses and want to assure you that your presence here matters. Whether you decide to stay or have a break is entirely up to you but I want you to know that you matter and deserve support here as much as anyone.

I can understand your frustrations when you see some members getting more support than others so you are not alone in that Hon. This forum is meant to be a peer to peer support forum however some still present as 'in crisis' and there is a duty of care from staff to make sure they and the community are safe. This is a problem with no instant answers - where do we draw a line and where do we continue to support! ...and in these instances, what other members are 'missing out' on that support as resources are taken up with one or two members? PSWs and mods are not meant to be the first port of call for anyone but there are inconsitencies with how they interact consistently with some members/threads and not engage with others. This again is a problem with no instant answers. So I 'get' what you are feeling and want you to know you are not alone in what you are seeing forums-wide.

Re: Tillogram

Hi @Zoe7thanks for your post. It has been a bit hectic for me the last couple of months. Every time I think things might be turning something happens, like this weather event. That was a bit anxiety provoking at the time, usually I wouldn’t even mention it, but it’s on a background of the other stuff.

I totally understand this is supposed to be a peer to peer platform. I completely understand that people need different levels of support. I totally understand the protocols in place.
I
did try to reach out one time I was feeling pretty bad, I didn’t really get much response. But I tried to soldier on, I tried to support others

I am so sorry you are dealing with my crap. I don’t want to bring people down. So I think it’s best to disengage.

I really want to thank you for your support though, it’s been really terrific, I feel you are are really hearing me, and I truly thank you but I don’t want to cause you any harm.

So I suppose to be recovery oriented; I will continue my journey as I have in the past, which is by myself. I have made it this far with that method, so 50 odd years, so this little period of a few months (about 6 months now actually) of trying something different may be at an end, but at least I tried and that can be seen as a positive. Also I have met some really lovely people here, so that’s a positive too

@tyme @AuntGlow I am just tagging you, so that I don’t have to write essentially the same thing again.

I know I will regret this post and my negativity and probably pretty much delete it in a few hours. I don’t want to be negative
