Tillogram

Hi All

@tyme @AuntGlow @Jynx @rav3n @MJG017 @NightFury @Shaz51 @MissGremlin @Appleblossom @Dimity and many others I have accidentally forgotten to tag

Just letting people know I am back safely from my trip.

I had a great trip, my sport event was brilliant and then I travelled a little bit.

Not sure how much engagement I will have with forums as only just returned to this cold weather!

I'm not sure what's been happening, but I hope everyone is well.

Re: Tillogram

Thank you for letting me know your thoughts - I am taking all of this on board @Zoe7 ☺️.

How are you today? What have you been doing for yourself this weekend? 🫶

Re: Tillogram

Hey @Till23 ,

That's not a ridiculously long post! It was great to read and have some updates.

Congrats on being selected! I recognise your MH can pull you down, but the fact that you can still keep going with your training and sport shows great determination and strength of spirit. As you said, sport is good for your MH. LOL, and just tell yourself it is the winter olympics!

To be honest, that's pretty exciting that you can go to europe for your sport. I guess it's a goal to keep you going?

How has your mood been otherwise? How are you feeling now?

Re: Tillogram

Thanks @tyme,, yes I know that there is plenty of evidence for exercise in MH management.. In fact some studies have found that exercise has more of an impact that antidepressants in depression.. Disclaimer, I am not suggesting that anyone should stop medication etc. But it is known that antidepressants do not have much of an impact on some people's depression. The so called treatment resistant people.

[I know people don't like that term, you have to remember it is not treatment failure, it's resistant. It does not say there is anything wrong with the person, or that no treatment will ever work. The definition of treatment resistant only pertains to medication].

Anyhow, so I push on with exercise because I know it very definitely has short-term effects for me.

.

I know not everyone is able to do exercise at the higher level, but any exercise has been shown to have benefit. Of course these are population outcomes, so don't necessarily apply to everyone.

So yes, I do try to help myself by exercising.

.

.

I am very tired and I have to get up early for another training session

.

Thanks for chatting, I will log off and wish you a good evening

I am also very aware there are two PSWs on this thread and a short interval in posting times, so I feel uncomfortable about that, because there are lots of people on the forums.

Re: Tillogram

Nah, @Till23 , don't stress about PSWs. We manage where we can.

I really like your definitely and explanation for 'treatment-resistant' etc. It puts things into perspective. And yes, I've also read studies about regular exercise having a larger impact for depression etc. I'm glad you raised this.

All the best for training tomorrow. I'll connect with you again when I'm on next.

Re: Tillogram

Hi @Zoe7,, I'm not one hundred percent sure what happened here.. I typed out a post to you last night and I cannot find it anywhere.. I must not have clicked on post properly,, but then it's not in my drafts!!

It basically said,, I'm not sure if you watched the men's AO final last night, I won't say the score in case you recorded it. You probably have found out by now!

Anyway I also wanted to wish you all the best for your first day back at work after your break. You now won't see this until after your first day!

I hope you had a good day anyhow
