Tillogram

Hi All

@tyme @AuntGlow @Jynx @rav3n @MJG017 @NightFury @Shaz51 @MissGremlin @Appleblossom @Dimity and many others I have accidentally forgotten to tag

Just letting people know I am back safely from my trip.

I had a great trip, my sport event was brilliant and then I travelled a little bit.

Not sure how much engagement I will have with forums as only just returned to this cold weather!

I'm not sure what's been happening, but I hope everyone is well.

Re: Tillogram

Yes, the Big 5 personalities - OCEAN.

Kids? I'm so used to them. I often have to refrain when I see something is 'not right' and the parents have no idea. Like at church today, a new person came with a son. She said, his language isn't good. He is clearly autistic and stimmed the whole time... the parents just tried to make him do what the other kids were doing... I felt sad for the kid.

Re: Tillogram

Sounds like an interesting thesis @tyme.. Did you finish that qualification?.

It's great that you can have a good connection with kids.. Yes I, myself definitely wouldn't think of saying anything to parents. Two reasons I suppose, what would I know and I think it's difficult raising kids and I think the expectations might be a bit higher with social media etc..

It's nice chatting with you, but I am very mindful you are receiving probably multiple tags per minute, so I don't want to hold you up. I haven't had the Forbidden problem for a few days now

Re: Tillogram

Nah don't stress about me receiving tags. You are too thoughtful. I respond whenever I can @Till23

Yes, I finished the course but never went further with psychology because I didn't like how it was so 'medical'. I verred into counselling instead which focussed on aspects away from the medicalised model.

Re: Tillogram

Well that's great @tyme the course probably gave you quite a bit of background.. You definitely do well here.. It's very hot here I think that's pretty much the case across the whole of Australia at the moment..

Thanks for chatting I am going to log off. I hope you have a great evening

Re: Tillogram

The counselling course was FANTASTIC. I learnt a lot. More than the peer work course @Till23

Are you doing anything tomorrow?

As for the forbidden issue. No stress if you can't. Only if it pops up again so we can get to the bottom of it.

Re: Tillogram

I am happy you found something that you really enjoyed @tyme.. And also that you are using that to have a productive career and you also are able to use your Lived Experience as well.. I am sorry that you have a Lived Experience of MH issues and I think some trauma previously and then the trauma of dealing with society's view of MH (generalisation, but the majority of people I think. I think the tide is finally turning, but it's a long road). But you have certainly used all this to help a huge number of people. So thank you for that.

I am just trying to have a quiet day tomorrow, if I go out at all, I'll go out into the bush just myself in nature.

Re: Tillogram

Do you ever go with bare feet to the bush? To ground yourself? I've heard that it is very therapeutic.

As for my MH issues, it was terribly hard back then, but now, I don't think I would change it for anything. I've learnt so much from it and I've grown a lot from having MH issues. I reckon i'd be a very hard, cruel person if I didn't have these issues myself. @Till23

Re: Tillogram

Yes @tyme it's harder these days because of the amount of pollution on the ground in the bush these days.. You have to be careful, even when you think you are in a fairly away from the beaten path place.. So I usually get to a place, check it out a bit and then take my shoes off and walk around, or sit there etc. and try to use all my senses to take in nature.

That might sound a bit sort of "new age" or something but for me it's a lifelong practice. It does make me feel connected to something very special.

I like your attitude to your MH struggles and I think you have found meaning in it and you have found a real purpose to your life. You might have had that already, I don't know, but it can't hurt.

I am trying to use some of my LE to assist people to be able to interact with medical services. It's well known that people with MH issues have lower life expectancy and die from preventable causes. This is especially important because people with MH issues have higher rates of all kinds of medical problems including cancer and inflammatory and immune diseases. If these people don't feel comfortable interacting with medical services these statistics are unlikely to change. I hope I can do something to help in this area.

Sorry got on my soapbox a bit there.

Re: Tillogram

Happy Sunday! @Till23 💛

I think having a psychologist appointment cancelled, as well as new medications implemented are perfectly valid reasons to feel a bit off-kilter!

How are you feeling today and what are your updates on therapy/medication?

Re: Tillogram

Hi @AuntGlow.. Sorry I must have logged off before you sent your message yesterday.. So it's actually Monday today!. But my Sunday was not too bad, if a little hot, which I think was the case for most of Australia..

I was feeling "off kilter" prior to the psychologist cancelling. .

As ever, I feel like I said too much in that post and should keep things to myself much more.

Anyhow, I think I won't say much about those things, except I have re-arranged a psych appointment in a couple of weeks, but thanks for asking after me
