Something’s not right

my therapist yelled at me

my therapist yelled at me

My therapist told me there were only 2 reasons I could email them - 1) if I was feeling unsafe 2) rescheduling sessions/format of session

I replied and said okay, no more emails, but I said I could think of other situations where email was required, because some admin, like requesting info etc - needs to be done in writing

I didn't check, but apparantly he sent me a long, dysregulated email in response.
He then called me ( i didn't answer)

He called me an hour later ( i didn't answer).

Finally I thought, why is he calling me - he never does that? So I called back.

He answers (no greeting) - Yes, Eternalflower - and launches into an aggressive, threatening tirade, berating me - for

1) annoying him when he asked me to stop emailng him

2) also NOT emailing him when I had an attempt on my life last week

3) Going too extreme now and stopping email entirely - which he never said - he said only REASONABLE emails and when I'm unsafe

4) saying all drs are taught that they don't correspond with patients except in emergency

5) when i said I know my GP and I do correspond outside of sessions and so do other professionals i've worked with in the last few years, and all drs are different in my view -

6) he said if there's some wacky dr who doesn't keep the rules i shouldn't compare him to them, and he's told me to report such drs to AHPRA

7) asked me the name of these Drs and then added, "if they even exist"

😎 generally insulted me, saying i'm "rewriting the narrative" "playing games" etc

9) screamed at me violently for 28 minutes straight

10) asked for a written apology ?

yada yada yada

so yeah

therapy sucks ya'll and so does humanity.

Re: my therapist yelled at me

@EternalFlower all that keeps going through my head is “we would be better off with AI psychologists”.

Re: my therapist yelled at me

hi @Glisten i often get angry when people push psychology on ppl like it's the answer for everything

for me it was the source of a lot of my problems

i hear u

the worst people in my life have been trained clinicians and i was always told i was in good hands because they had a good name or the title.

I am learning to listen to my gut

I know if I'm safe

AI is very helpful - do you discuss ur concerns with it? I was talking to it about this issue as well.

@EternalFlower I use AI for neurobiology and biology science extrapolation. How often I should use sauna to expel excess cortisol.

Three days ago I had a memory recall. My brain 🧠 has hidden a few of my woodworking skills and techniques.

I was an easier and faster to ask why my mind would block, these simple things.

All I need is truth and facts. I don’t want scientific fact, filtered via a professional’s life-lense

The subjectivity of clinicians really needs to be recognised. If they are honest about it, it needn’t be that big a problem. @EternalFlower @Glisten yes, we need to compromise with our supports. I hope it becomes a genuine repair… after a rupture.

I might look up about cortisol. My old gp doesn’t know the difference between cortisol and bad diet… Had too much medical gaslighting. I am not rushing to get another. One day….

The badly behaved psychiatrist asked me to explain something technical about rhythm today in the workshop. One day I will tell her that is how I think about her and describe her. I didn’t feel comfortable but she chose to sit next to me. I can be professional. I am learning to have a backbone and be firm and manage her, but at home I can pace and quietly scream at the injustices meted out by her profession to my family. It just seems to be my weird social and spiritual path, that I keep encountering shrinks socially. It is what it is. I am no longer withdrawing due to other people’s problems.
