Daily goals, motivation and check in

Daily goals, motivation and check in

I'm starting this discussion as a place where we can set our goals daily, help motivate each other to do them and then check in with how we went. It's a place to celebrate when we achieve them or just sit with each other if we didnt and are feeling down about it. Hopefully with encouragement and support from each other we'll tick lots of boxes for our daily goals and feel good about it. Please join in. 😊

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Hi everyone 🙂

I've been reading along and wanting to join in and chat but feel like I'd be butting in to someone else's conversation (which I know is just a normal part of joining in a forum and you gotta start somewhere!). This place looks like a good place to start because I think that working on sensible, manageable daily goals could be really helpful for me at the moment. I find it incredibly frustrating that my mental health is making things much harder than they used to be and I tend to be really hard on myself when i cant 'do it all'.

Today I had a huge list of things I wanted to do and I am realising I won't be able to do it all. I did go to the supermarket and do almost a week of shopping. Thanks to current challenges, trips like that can be really hard lately and take a lot of energy to get through. My goal for the rest of the day is now to be a little nicer to myself and try and believe that what I have been able to do is ok.

Well done to those of you who have set some goals and achieved them today, or are on your way to getting there 🙂

Please butt in @Former-Member although I guess it's actually not butting in it's just contributing😊 Lovely to have you here. Well done on your achievements today. I've not managed any on my list much yet although done some things not on there.
*note to self - perhaps wait until brain is engaged for the day before writing goals.
I hope your self care goes well this afternoon. 💜🤗

@Appleblossom, sounds good to me. So relate to 'going into a new phase of life' - naturally. The best time to garden is after heavy rain - we've had so much rain here this week. Be thinking of ya sis 🙂

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Thanks @Former-Member. I hope you've found peace in your garden too. Mending sounds like something that would feel great at many levels too. Not just the doing but knowing ypuve saved or created something. Wishing you a lovely afternoon. 💜🤗💐

Time to get back to my list

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

@Former-Member, you're funny! make me smile. Days like this, when plans go out the window, I come back here and make a review list of things I HAVE done or achieved. Kinda better than beating myself up over the other, and the forums here such great encouragers.

@Former-Member, cool name! Welcome here, just jump in - the more the merrier. Sundays are a good day to just 'chill' do the gentle soul feeding stuff mostly. Must remember, just as you are - you are enough" 🙂

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Thank you 🙂

Garden in the sunshine is where I'm heading I think (seems a few of us find something good being in the garden). I have some seedlings ready to plant which might be a nice thing to do. No rain here for a while though so it's very dry in the garden 😕

Hope you all have a lovely afternoon

Re: Daily goals, motivation and check in

Hi everyone,

I'm jumping in to this thread for the first time too. I like the encouraging nature of aiming to do things but not beating ourselves up if we don't. I've done nothing so far today except get some more sleep this morning (until midday), after a broken night's sleep. Feel better for the extra snooze. I've had breakfast and dressed in the most basic way, and that's about it. Doing anything at all (except computing) can be a challenge for me. There are a collection of things I'd like to get done today: dishes and cleaning the kitchen; taking out the rubbish; beach walk in later afternoon; shower; make green smoothie juice for myself; change sheets on bed for a fresh night sleep; don't forget to eat. Most of all I just want to get through another day without my companion and unofficial part-time carer, who is interstate for a week. Going okay with that so far. 🙂

@Shaz51 good work on getting the house clean and the washing 🙂
Oh no, frozen tomatoes!
I hate wasting food so I can see this becoming increasingly more elaborate. Next I'll find a recipe to use up the scones. Perhaps try to make them into breadcrumbs and make pumpkin scone crumbed schnitzel. Although the way my schnitzel turned out last time that would be a horrific idea.
Tomorrow I'm going to try the bike ride again with my better bike. Pancakes for breakfast. Clean the table. Get rid of the wrong-address mail. Transfer the sheet music from my computer to my tablet and put my tablet on the keyboard stand.
How about you?

a suggestion to avoid wastage

Once crumbed pumpkin scone mix coated schnitzel can use defrosted tomatoes to make parmigiana
