A hard day

A hard day

Just found out a friend's son was tragically taken from us yesterday. I won't put details here but it seems like it was a hit and run. I lost another friend a few years ago in similar circumstances.

Absolutely heartbroken 💔

@Zoe7 I think it makes sense to save, I feel like cheap appliances are often poor quality. I think it is wise to see how you go, I know social interactions can take a lot from us when we are struggling.

I’ve just had dinner. Might try massaging my head for a bit to ease the heaviness

Re: A hard day

I might give tomorrow a miss @creative_writer I will see my Mum and sister next weekend so that is just a week away. I don't want to answer questions about the funeral or my friend just yet so probably a good idea not to see them tomorrow. I have things to do at home and that might be a better distraction👍

A head massage seems like a good idea Hon. I get that heaviness - usually leads to a migraine for me unfortunately. I hope it eases soon for you ❤️

Going to find something to watch before I feed the babies their biscuits then I think another early night for me. Have to tell you (again) just how much you have helped me this past couple of weeks. Do not underestimate how much it has meant to me ....thank you ❤️

Re: A hard day

@Zoe7 it’s okay to give yourself safe. Sometimes you need it to process things. What plans do you have for tomorrow?

I used my bamboo hair brush and did a bit of massaging using my fingers. I accidentally ripped one hair out in the process. I get migraines, and sometimes I get those auras too.

I hope you find something comforting to watch. It’s been so lovely talking to you, it had been so long. Sending you lots of love and hugs your way 💖🫂

Re: A hard day

I want to get outside again and sweep some more sand over my new paths @creative_writer Then work on my mosaic circles in the backyard. Both are quite relaxing so it may be a good to spend a little time on both throughout the day. I can't do either for too long physically at the moment but there is no rush for either. I also better do a little school work. The last thing I need is to go back to work unprepared.

It really has been great chatting again. I do not spend much time on the forum these days but you have been amazing. Got the footy on at the moment but as soon as I feed the babies I am going to head to bed - getting very tired again. Good night sweetheart ❤️

Good night sweetheart

Re: A hard day

I slept most of the morning @creative_writer after being up at silly o'clock. Waited for feeding time at the zoo and went back to sleep. I finally got up about midday and headed outside for a while. Didn't get the sand swept over my pavers but did a bit in the backyard. Having tomorrow off. Will wait until I speak to my pdoc in the morning to make any decisions on the rest of the week. I know the longer I am away, the harder it will be to return but I am just not in the right mindset to be at work. It is such a tough job on the best of days but when you are not feeling great, it is even harder. I do miss the kids but I also need to be okay to be there.

How has your day been? Is your head feeling any better?

Re: A hard day

@Zoe7 sometimes you need sleep. I slept a lot last night, woke up sort of groggy, but PRN can do that. I do need to talk to my pdoc about the tolerance building up. My PRN is one of my routine meds, but I just take an extra baby dose to settle things. I do feel like I’ve had to increase that meds over time, I don’t want to have to keep increasing it.

It does sound like that despite the sleep in, you were able to get some stuff done, which is a win. Being a teacher is hard work, many underestimate it. I hope things become clearer for you soon, take it moment by moment.

My head is better, but I’m in back pain. Hopefully the physio can help. I have a physio booked in later this month. Might be worth asking her to check for unevenness. One of my shoulders is higher than the other, so my collarbones are weird. My migraines tend to be left sided (on the higher shoulder side). My dad has a higher shoulder too, so maybe its genetic

Re: A hard day

Hey @creative_writer Sorry I did not get back to you last night - watched the footy and went to bed. Have spoken to my pdoc and we have a plan. Having all this week off but need to get out and do things so I do not think so much. She is also helping with the anxiety so that is good. It has been a long time (years) since I have needed any help with that but in the short term we both think it is a good idea for a couple of weeks to have on hand just in case - especially when I go back to work next week. I am going to have to go into work at some stage to catch up on what is happening and find out what the kids have been doing. I have a flu shot booked for Friday afternoon after school so I may just wait until then. I can also then take the fish tank back in to the classroom. I will see how the week unfolds - not putting any pressure on myself right now.

How is your back pain today Hon?

Re: A hard day

@Zoe7 no need to apologise, I wanted to give you the space. It sounds like your appointment was a productive one, it helps to have a plan. I think it's good to take it easy and pace yourself. I hope going back to school goes smoothly for you ❤️

My back is better but I'm having a migraine and feeling nauseous

Re: A hard day

My appointment was very productive @creative_writer My pdoc is amazing. She said to contact her anytime I need. Hoping that won't be needed but I know she will fit me in if I need. Last week I dropped in to see if I could be put on the cancellation list and within half an hour she had moved some things around to be able to see me straight away.

I was ready to discuss going back to work mid week but she didn't think that was a good idea - especially as I was feeling quite flat this morning. Being given as short term new med was the clincher - I have had bad reactions to some meds in the past so a few days extra to see how I am on it is a good idea.

On the positive side - I have been outside most of the afternoon doing bits and pieces ...and all also got some of my art out and started. I am going to aim to get a little more done each day. Painting for me is very relaxing so the more I can do, the better I usually feel.

I am just about to head out to the supermarket but will be back soonish. Hopefully we can chat more them.

Bugger about the migraine and nausea - I feel for you as I know when they hit me it is really difficult. Hugs and hugs Hon ❤️
