A hard day

A hard day

Just found out a friend's son was tragically taken from us yesterday. I won't put details here but it seems like it was a hit and run. I lost another friend a few years ago in similar circumstances.

Absolutely heartbroken 💔

Re: A hard day

I definitely need time and space after working with little energizer bunnies all day @creative_writer I am really not a social person anyway so enjoy my alone time with my fur babies.

I managed to get to work this afternoon to have my flu shot and see my Principal. She has been so supportive and very caring. The first question she asked was 'how was I doing'. I was honest and said not great but okay enough to return to work on Monday.

I received an email from the teacher who has been on my class this week and it looks like I will be going back to some issues - all of which could have been avoided so I am pretty annoyed with her. I have never been a fan of hers anyway so this has just reinforced that for me. She barely told me what she had been doing with the class so I am going in blind ...adds a bit more stress to returning 😒

@Zoe7 some people are just naturally introverts and need more time alone. Animals can be amazing, sometimes even more loyal than many people. Glad to hear that your principal was supportive.

It would be stressful going back blind. All we can hope is it will be a smoother transition than anticipated. Sometimes it can be hard with colleagues

Re: A hard day

My other grade 1 colleague is amazing @creative_writer but she only works Tues-Fri so I won't see her until Tuesday. My other great mate has taken up a position at a different school for this term. She started two weeks before the end of last term and I am really going to miss her. Thankfully, both my Principal and Ass Princ have been supportive. I really like our AP - she only started this year at our school but I am already very fond of her. She won't be there Monday either but is back Tuesday. I just need to get to work, see what has been happening, catch up on everything and then go from there ....not much else I can do.

@Zoe7 glad to hear there are plenty of supportive people at your school, it makes a huge difference. I hope you are able to transition smoothly. Going back to work is hard in itself, even without personal struggles.

Do you have plans for this weekend?
