Just found out a friend's son was tragically taken from us yesterday. I won't put details here but it seems like it was a hit and run. I lost another friend a few years ago in similar circumstances.
@creative_writer I have actually enjoyred our conversation tonight. A couple of days ago I would not have been capable of continuing a discussion like this so thank you for the thought provoking topic. I do now have to head to bed ...my eyes keep closing so time to sleep. Good night Hon. I hope tomorrow is filled with light for you ❤️

Re: A hard day
@Zoe7 when I was in a dark place I almost took my life. My psych at the time told me to think about the consequences my actions would’ve had on others, including her. I found it unfair. Like I could’ve sent someone to therapy by doing it. She spoke about how she had clients who went to therapy after someone close to them took their life. Like I get she was anti-suicide, it’s still a delicate matter. I was already feeling shit and I just felt offended. Stuff like that sort of breaks your trust and rupture therapeutic alliance. Other things also contributed to the rupture. I left and got a new psych, I’m doing better with this psych. I also hope to not need therapy for the rest of my life. I want to make progress without being in therapy for the next ten years

Re: A hard day
Some people just don't get it @creative_writer When you are that low you think everyone would be better off without you. Saying what your psych said is neither helpful nor appropriate. So glad you left and found a new psych Hon. I have been in that same place several times. Luckily I failed but now I am glad I did. Back then though I had no hope and did not want to be here at all - everything was too hard and too painful so I get it 🥰
I have had several psychs over the years but the one I have now is amazing. For most of the last couple of years it was more of a check in for me and to know support was there if I needed it. These past 6 months have been harder so I have seen her more regularly. My pdoc is the same - a check in and making sure meds are okay every few months. I have needed extra support lately - especially after my GP left suddenly and dealing with so much grief - and she fitted me in the same day ...and called Monday to see how I was. So my supports are really helping. I know not everyone has that same level of care though.
Spent the afternoon with my friend. She is doing okay - has her moments but that is to be expected. Tonight is the first night she will be home alone so I have told her to call me at any time if she needs and I will be there.
@rav3n Not sure if you are on tonight but sending you warm wishes also ❤️

Re: A hard day
@Zoe7 exactly, it’s hard not to feel like a burden to others. My strongest protective factor is my faith. I am lucky I don’t get that intense SI. Though with how things have been, I have been getting fleeting thoughts now and then. I’ve had moments where I’ve tried attempting and my family walked in, so I couldn’t do anything. I had to pretend I wasn’t getting closer to taking my life. But I’ve been so damn close. I guess it was never in my fate.
It took me a while to find my current psych, I only found her this year after searching through so many profiles. It’s going well so far, I don’t find her too clinical either. The clinical approach just isn’t for me. I prefer the more humanistic and holistic approach. I have been seeing my current pdoc for a while, I do need to talk about med tolerance next appointment. I wish I was stable, but I don’t think I’m quite there yet. I still have a lot going on, but I am more stable now compared to when I joined the forums.
Spending time with a friend can be lovely. You sound like a sweet and caring friend 💖.
I haven’t had much on tonight, I had dinner and did my scalp massage. I have a ton of tension in my body, it helps to release it. Do you have much on tonight?

Re: A hard day
My psych is very kind and insightful @creative_writer We usually only talk about general things but she is great at seeing when I am not okay or need to delve deeper into something. I find it really easy to talk to her also which is a big thing for me. My pdoc is the same so I am very lucky.
Not doing much tonight. Have a lot to clean up but it can wait until tomorrow. Already fed the fur babies their biscuits and think I will be in bed shortly. No naps or extra sleeps today so I am pretty tired. Might find something to watch and see how I go.
What are you up to tonight?

Re: A hard day
@Zoe7 I think it is very helpful when you are able to find supports who are able to identify when something isn’t right. Historically, I’ve struggled with differentiating my normal agitation vs more than normal agitation.
Sounds like a chill evening. Did you find something to watch?
I didn’t get up to much, said some prayers and got ready for bed. I am feeling very sleepy now
