Angry and alone

Angry and alone

Hi. I know I should write some sort of intro but just don't really know what there is to say.

I'm feeling angry and alone and like there's no one who cares.

Re: Angry and alone

Haha awesome @CheerBear 🙂

I guess you're right, there could be others feeling the same way. My reaction does make me feel like a bit of a one dimensional supervillain criminal creep bad guy though.

It's unfortunate how many people can relate to Plan Z.I think the most helpful thing here has been talking so that I'm not stuck with front row tickets to the Me Vs Me monologue. Which is exactly how you've helped tonight, so thank you. 🙂 I'm going to get some sleep and try to salvage Plan A tomorrow. Thanks for hanging out with me. I hope the rest of your night is good and you have a nice day tomorrow.

Re: Angry and alone

Thanks @Zoe7. Your thread has been far too busy for me to stick my nose into, but I'm thinking of you too. Hope you have a good night and that sleep is restful and peaceful when you're ready for it.

Re: Angry and alone

I totally understand @TheVorticon - sometimes we need to keep it simple and it is too much to get involved when there are a lot of people around. I have found it a bit overwhelming myself lately.

Always thinking of you buddy

Re: Angry and alone

Hi @TheVorticon,

I have been reading through the last few pages of your thread and I wanted to let you know that I can relate to some of what you describe. I only skim read it (cos my brain is super mushy), so forgive me if I haven't heard you accurately.

I don't feel comfortable tagging people when I'm super struggling. I super appreciate it when people ride the waves with me, but I don't feel comfortable tagging them to ask them to.

Sometimes I look at threads like Zoe's and Outlander's and feel a bit miffed that they seem to attract so much support, while I often feel so alone. But then I realise that when I'm super struggling, I don't WANT the sort of interaction that I see on those busy threads. I truly do just need to hear people say "I'm here with you" rather than engaging in conversation. I recognise that I can actually be very prickly when I'm super struggling. EVERYTHING hurts, and hence I can be snappy and defensive. In contrast, it seems like some others around here really want and need to engage in conversation as a means of support.

I have a feeling that this might be my aspieness shining through. For you, I wonder if part of the reason you may feel a disconnect on the forum is because it is overwhelmingly dominated by women. I struggle with a lot of what I would call warm fuzzy fluffiness here on the forums. I find it odd how everyone is forever hugging each other, sending them love hearts and referring to them as "mum" or "sister." I totally respect that this is important and valuable for them, but it sure as heck isn't what I want or need. I imagine that if the forum was male dominated, it would look very different.

Anyway, I'm not sure if any of that actually relates to anything you have shared. My brain really is horribly horribly fuzzy (probably water-logged!!!!) and I can't think clearly at all. Thus my reply may not relate to anything you said. However, I want you to know that in my head at least, when I was reading your posts I was thinking about how much I could relate to what you were saying.

I really like you @TheVorticon and I am really glad you are around here on the forums.

Re: Angry and alone

@TheVorticon You are welcome to 'tag' me when you are reaching out for support. I only get notifications when I am tagged now - I changed my settings for just this - as it has become too big and too overwhelming to be receiving so many notifications for conversations or threads I am either not part of at any given time or have posted one or two replies and had no further interaction in the conversation. Therefore if I am not specifically @mentioned I do not receive an email in regards to those posts. This has definitely made it easier to continue to interact of the forum - without becoming too overwhelmed by the increase (and speed) in activity that seems to have continued to rise over the past few weeks.

@Former-Member please also reach out to me if you need support - I have tended to 'stick' to a couple of threads and conversations of a hand full of people that I have had a closer and more long-term realtionship with here on the forum over the last month or so. This has been necessary for my own self-care and alleviating some of my negative feelings around some of the activity on the forum.
