Angry and alone

Angry and alone

Hi. I know I should write some sort of intro but just don't really know what there is to say.

I'm feeling angry and alone and like there's no one who cares.

Re: Angry and alone

I care!

Hi, we've not met, but I'm diprotodon.
I'm not sure what to say either, but I just wanted you to know that there are people who care. And you don't have to share if you don't want, but if you do, there are people listening.

Re: Angry and alone

Hi @TheVorticon Feeling angry and alone sucks and I am sorry to hear you are having those horrible feelings. There is always someone here to listen, if you want to talk. Alternatively, I can just plonk myself down here beside you and we can sit with the horrible angry and alone feelings together

Re: Angry and alone

Hi @TheVorticon

A warm welcome to the Sane forums! If you want caring people, you have come to the right place 🙂

We also know alot about anger and lonliness here and by connecting with each other, it makes the lonliness a bit easier to bear.

The forums are moderated by counsellors and mental health workers 24/7 and we work hard to create a safe and supportive space for people who join up from all over Australia (and probably some OS countries too I suspect). Please take 10 mins to read the forum guidelines here when you can. The main guidelines to keep in mind are to keep your posts confidential without sharing any identifying information about yourself or services you may use, don't mention specific medications and always be respectful and supportive of others in your comments.

Have a look around some other threads when you have time, and do share a little about your situation, any MI (mental illness), questions you may have and things that help you get through those angry, sad days.

I look forward to chatting with you on the forums.

kind regards,

Frog

Thanks @Former-Member, @Phoenix_Rising and @Former-Member.

I'm not sure if I can elaborate at the moment.

For now it just helps to be heard, even if I'm not saying anything.

Thanks @Former-Member
I tried talking about some of this stuff elsewhere but was told that I sounded "irrelevant", "nonsensical" or even "unstable". So hopefully this will be a more understanding place to talk about things when I need to.
Sorry to hear that you've been feeling angry/alone too @Former-Member.

Re: Angry and alone

Hi. I have been feeling angry and alone for the past seven years since I was diagnosed with schizoeffective. Particularly towards my mother. I worked out that it was because she was trying to tell me that I was mentally ill and I hadn't accepted or realised that. Feel relieved and let go of a lot of anger. Now I can love her. I have just recently started working and love it because I feel less alone and can care for others. If you are feeling angry and alone be patient with it and just sit with it so you can understand it a bit better. I feel angry that I have this illness and that no one understands me. I feel so complicated and I just want it to be simple. That makes me feel alone.

Hi @TheVorticon, I don't have the slightest idea what your stuff is...but I do know that it is NOT irrelevant or nonsensical. I don't need to know anything about your stuff, to know that it is important and that the feelings you have around it are valid and that you deserve to be listened to and heard.

Re: Angry and alone

Hey @Zest, sorry to hear that you're feeling angry and alone too. It's good that you started to figure some of it out, and repair your relationship with your mother as well as making more connections at your work.

Thanks @Phoenix_Rising. I think the other place that I tried to discuss it is just the wrong sort of environment for me anyway. Of course I did end up writing a 2 hour rant explaining the context of a 6 word sentence to them, since apparently they needed a user guide on basic comprehension skills. But I'm still counting that as a productive use of anger regardless of the response I end up getting.

Re: Angry and alone

I'm kind of going in the opposite direction of the loop that Zest described. I feel alone and then angry as a result. Then the thoughts I have when angry only increase the sense of disconnection and aloneness. And of course I can't discuss those thoughts with anyone because it would result in rejection and more aloneness, which in turn makes me more angry at everyone.
