Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Morning @NightFury, how are you going?

Good morning @MissGremlin

I'm feeling a bit better this morning, a little less breakable.

How are you?

Re: Battles

@NightFury I'm glad you are feeling a bit better and less breakable.

I've woken up with a headache and just feel blah. Was awake at 3am and in quite the state so was chatting to lifeline until 5.30am. So I'm kind of feeling a bit ashamed and fragile today, but I've got Casper with me and I'm trying to just focus on replying to posts at the moment.

I started reading your other post and then was like hold on i need an iced coffee before I tackle this. So give me a bit but I am about to start replying. You know me, I have to read it section by section and reply to each bit as I go.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin I can relate to that feeling of being ashamed and fragile. But well done on reaching out to Lifeline and spending time with them this morning.

I've been awake since 4 am as well, so we can caffeinate together.

No pressure to respond at all. I tagged you in it because I needed to summarise the other night as an example, you gave me the support that I needed. You do that so well, support others in need even when you're not feeling your best. I am soso thankful. I'm afraid to think what would have happened, if you hadn't. You, my dear, did a good thing!

Re: Battles

@NightFury i really failed myself on Thursday and I'm angry and ashamed of what happened. But when I was in the same space yesterday I didn't allow the same thing to happen so that was progress.

If only caffeine actually had any affect on me 😂. Do you have any plans for the day or weekend?

Awww I'm just so glad I was able to be there for you. I know all too well how hard it is to go through things alone so I try hard to make sure others aren't made to feel like that. You can always tag me whenever you need anything, random chat, distraction, support, vent, whatever.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin progress is good and that sounds like amazing progress.

I just realised that I need food, so I'm doing the breakfast thing right now. I have study to catch up on from the week - but it's a struggle. I have to break it down into small chunks because it's like my capacity to absorb information reaches it's limit and my brain shifts into brain fog mode and I can't take anything in. It means that I'm behind in my weekly course work. Which is a new experiences for me and an adjustment to make.

I want to do something for me today. I was thinking of going to see the new Lilo and Stitch, but I'm talking myself in circles with that. So, i'm not sure if I'll achieve that or not. I also need to do some housework and I have my two year old niece all day tomorrow.

What are your plans?

Re: Battles

@NightFury yes food is good, enjoy.

Study can be hard especially in times like this so just take it easy and go slow.

Doing something for you sounds like a really good idea. I love Lilo and stitch (well mainly stitch) but I'm not sure i can handle the new movie as i just don't cope with change. If you do go and see it you'll have to let me know what it's like. Oh the joys of housework, it's never ending. Hope you enjoy having your niece tomorrow, I'm sure she will love spending the day with you.

I have to do washing today and I have an inspection coming up so I need to get the house ready for that. But I'm not sure i can tackle too much today with the way I'm feeling.

@MissGremlin I'm going to throw your advice back at you...

Take it easy and go slow!

Re: Battles

@NightFury well played 😂.

Problem is if i start I don't stop and then it all comes crashing down. So for now I'm laying in bed and just leaving everything alone.
