Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

A lot of services these days are designed to be a bit more short-term I think @MissGremlin. Could partially be a funding issue, but also there's the concept around people becoming dependent on long-term supports, when ideally the goal of therapy is to get to a place where we no longer need it. I know you that may not be helpful, and you may already know this, but just thought I'd offer my thoughts anyway. I can imagine finding long-term support that is affordable would be a unique challenge and I wish it wasn't as scarce as it is.

Hope your day has been kind to you and the inspection went well.

Re: Battles

@Jynx I talked to my support worker about this recently, before NDIS started there was lots of support available both long and short term. But then they all disappeared as people were able to get onto NDIS, now that they've started cutting off people being able to access it, it's possibly that these types of services may start to reappear. I totally understand the need to cope without support long term and that's the goal of these services that exist now, but there's some of us that have chronic mental illness that requires intensive support.

The inspection was fine, just long. The person that came out is shocked that none of the work has been done. The ceiling in one of the rooms is almost completely falling down, it's been marked as urgent for several years now and still hasn't been fixed.

Hope you're doing well sweet ❤️
