Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@Till23 yes it's very disappointing.

Sort of but very much still in a heightened state, so at any moment I feel like it's going to just go right back to being at that critical point.

Re: Battles

Have you tried some of your “go to” things @MissGremlin while you haven’t been so heightened?

I’m worried about you, but I have to do some things and get to bed. Especially as it’s cooling down here tonight

Re: Battles

@Till23 yes I have tried, I've been wrapped up with my weighted blanket, I tried to do some colouring but couldn't, I've been trying to keep my hands busy with fidget toys.

Thankyou for your concern, I'll hopefully be ok. Hope you can get to bed soon, it's cooling down here aswell.

Re: Battles

I’ve never tried a weighted blanket @MissGremlin where do you get them? Somebody mentioned a fidget cube the other day. I don’t know what that is, I have a fidget spinner though.

Sometimes I plait together three bits of string, or wool to keep my hands busy

Re: Battles

@Till23 most places sell them now. I've got ones from big w, Harris scarfe and spotlight. They can be very helpful depending on the individual.

There's all different types of fidget things now, i still have fidget spinners around somewhere. But I have lots of different fidget things.

I do enough plaiting every day 😂. But I do have fun plaiting different coloured wool or threads to keep busy.

Re: Battles

Oh wow @MissGremlin I never thought to look in a mainstream shop. Are that just with other blankets?

Oh I presume you mean hair, my hair is too short to plait.

Are you an exercise person for symptom management?

I sometimes do some push-ups or sit-ups or things like that, if it’s too dark to walk

Re: Battles

@Till23 yeah usually just in with blankets.

Yeah I plait long hair every day.

I'm not really much of an exercise person, have to be careful not to upset my heart rate too much. I do try to walk around my house or backyard sometimes.

Re: Battles

I will have a look @MissGremlin

You learn so much on here, even about shopping!

Yes, I was forgetting about your heart.

At these times though I would try to do something with my hands like plaiting, doodling, fidget spinner, ironing. Depending on how I was I might be able to do some word games.

Re: Battles

@Till23 I played a couple of games on my phone but really couldn't focus. Dissociating massively at the moment so just all over the place.
