Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@NightFury yes. I lost 4 dogs in the past 5 years. But the one I lost last year was my assistance dog and she was only 3 years old 💔. It truly broke me and it's not something I'll ever get over. But having Casper is amazing and I'm hoping given time it will start helping my situation.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin I haven't lost any animals, but have had to rehome some recently. It's really really hard. They become such a huge part of your life and they become your family. Most of the time, I rely on my dog to keep me company, to help me through tough nights and nightmares and just to be a loving presence in my life.

Re: Battles

@NightFury rehoming them is just as hard. I had one at the end of last year that was supposed to be my assistance dog but I had to hand her back to the breeder as she just wasn't settling down. I tried everything to see if I could get her to calm down but trainers and the breeder agreed that she wasn't the dog for me. She had anxiety herself so we were basically feeding off each other. It broke my heart and I felt like I'd failed her.

Yes my one that I lost last year was with me through most of my suicide attempts and helped interrupt harmful behaviours and she helped when I was having panic attacks. Dogs really are amazing and help so much when it comes to mental health.

They take care of us, I think @MissGremlin and not the other way around.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin what's happening to keep you from your bed? Why 10 pm?

Re: Battles

@NightFury commitments 😂. Let's face it, it's not like I sleep until 1am at least anyway. I just like to sit and chill on my bed.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin those silly commitment things!!! Sitting and chilling on the bed is one of the best pass times.
