Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

Morning @MJG017, what are you doing awake at this silly hour of the day?

Have you got any plans for the day?

I'm down the beach. I got here at 8am! My mens group is down here. They have ice baths every Sunday morning. But there's no way I'm doing that!

Re: Battles

@MJG017 oh that sounds nice to be down at the beach. You don't feel like a nice ice bath to make everything shrivel up? 😂

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin mornings are hard. Going to a Tibetan Buddhist monastery today though for some meditation and teaching so looking forward to that

@amonrae04 mornings can be hard. Hope the day improves for you and you enjoy the Tibetan Buddhist Monastery 😊

Trust me... after the last 2 years on hormone therapy blocking testosterone, more shriveling is the last thing I need. 🤣

Re: Battles

@MJG017 i know i really shouldn't laugh but i mean in situations like this my theory is if you don't laugh you'll cry. So i am having a little chuckle 😂. How was the catch up though?

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin

I completely understand about the "if you don't laugh, you cry" bit. It probably explains how I can talk to a bunch of guys for 30 minutes about how bad my cancer is going and make them laugh the whole time! There's enough crying when i'm on my own so you just have to laugh when you can.

The catch up was good. It's such a great bunch of guys. So open, friendly and supportive. A couple of the brought their wives down. I got a hug. A proper touchy one. If it wasn't so early in the morning, I may have been more awake and could have avoided it. I'd never met her before this morning. The social thing is strange and takes me some getting used to.

Re: Battles

@MJG017 it's such a sh!t situation and yes there will be times when it's not possible to laugh and the tears will flow. I'm glad you were able to catch up with people and have a chat, I know it's hard being social especially given our past but the fact that you are doing it and stepping out of your comfort zone is amazing and you deserve all the support possible.

Oh no, getting a proper touchy hug and from a complete stranger, hope it wasn't too awkward. Well I mean you survived to tell the tale so that's a bonus 😂.

What does the rest of your day entail?

@MissGremlin

I am getting more used to the hugging thing. It's still awkward as anything... but like everything... i'm improving. Slowly. Probably. 😀

The rest of mt day is nothing at all. I got up just after 7am, so it already feels like the day is almost over and it's time for bed. 🤣

I assume you day involves lots of playing with a cute little dog.
