Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin I'm glad you're still trying, and I hope you know you don't have to wait until things feel even worse to reach out for support. You deserve that support through the difficult moments too

Doing some book covers and diamond art sounds like a nice way to spend some time today, especially if you can take things at your own pace. Hopefully your next cuppa lasts a little longer 😂

I don't blame you for dreading the heat! Going out without aircon sounds rough, especially with Casper coming along too. Hopefully you can both stay cool and comfortable as much as possible

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 I do try to remind myself that but in the moment it can be hard to recognise until I'm at crisis point.

I just had to make a quick trip out, really didn't want to have to go anywhere today but I'm glad that I'm back home again now. Haha i won't have another cuppa until tomorrow morning now 😂.

I've somehow hurt my neck, back, shoulder, yes it's all of those at once. I can't turn to the left properly 😞.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin I can understand that, and I hope you can keep reminding yourself that you deserve support before things get to that stage too

I'm glad you're back home now and can hopefully have a chance to rest!

Oh no, that sounds so uncomfortable. I'm sorry you're dealing with that on top of everything else lovely. Hopefully you can take it easy today, and if the pain or difficulty turning your neck continues or worsens, please consider getting some medical advice.

Hopefully tomorrow's cuppa is extra enjoyable after the very long wait! ☺️

I tried something new today, caramel espresso shot with a touch of vanilla, cold milk and cold foam, wow it was soooo good! Definitely can't have it every day though, way too much sugar lol

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 it actually scares me at the moment that things are feeling ok, i feel like I'm trying too hard to keep it that way and when the crash happens it's going to hit really hard.

It will sort itself out, hopefully! No strenuous exercise for me at the moment, what a shame 😂.

I'm sure it will be. I'll have an iced coffee soon. Here's a laugh for you, I promise I don't have an addiction, but here's my iced coffee stash 😂. (There's also more since i took that picture😂.)

Ooohhh that sounds soooo yummy 😋.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin I can understand why it feels a little scary when things are feeling okay, especially when you're worried about what might happen when things shift again. You don't have to put pressure on yourself to keep everything feeling okay all the time though. It's okay to take things as they come and reach out for support if things start getting harder 💛

And no strenuous exercise for you! 😂 Hopefully you can give yourself some time to rest and recover, I hope you feel better lovely.

Wow that is an impressive stash you got there 😂 coffee is the best! I go stir crazy without it so makes sense you're stocking up. I do the same haha

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 it's so hard to enjoy the lighter moments when you know what's coming. My heart rate hasn't dropped below 100 for days now and it's getting tiresome, the joys of tachycardia!

Thankyou sweet ❤️. I've just finished covering the books, I'm waiting for my roast to be ready 😋.

In my defence they are discontinuing them! 😂. Honestly it's my one little treat, why can't they just let me have it, make them just for me 😂.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin I can understand that but, you deserve to enjoy those moments when they come though, without feeling like you have to brace yourself for what's next 💛

Heart rate above 100 for a few days now sounds quite freighting. Have you spoken to your doctor/medical team about it?

Well done on getting all those books covered! Hopefully your roast is worth the wait, sounds yummy!

I completely understand your defence! 😂 it sucks they're discontinuing though, I really hate when that happens, especially if it's something you really enjoy. Little fun fact about me: I used to be a barista for years! I enjoy making coffees and coffee art or all sorts of different drinks ☺️

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 things have crashed really suddenly but it's not even just my mood, it's physically aswell. I'm about to contact health direct but I'm thinking it's all related to what's been happening (what's been sent in emails). Maybe a bit of withdrawal being that last night i was able to stay strong.

I'm sure it will be worth the wait, they just take forever to cook 😂.

Yes it messes with me when I find something I like and then it gets discontinued. Oohhh I love that little fun fact, so you'd be a pro at making all sorts of coffees, that's so cool ☺️. Meanwhile there's me that just chucks a sachet into a mug 😂.

Yeah it was my first job at 15 working at a cafe and then I just continued being a barista for years at different cafes/restaurants as well as working in retail ☺️

A sachet coffee still does the job! 😂 and yeah it's so frustrating when you find something you love and then it's discontinued!

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 still trying to work up the courage, in the meantime I'm just trying to slow things down a bit (I'm safe).

That's an awesome first job and it's great that you stuck with it for so long. My first proper job was working in smokemart as a Christmas casual but then when I was meant to finish up they didn't want to let me go but didn't have a position for me so they could only offer me one day a week until something came up. I stayed on and then got offered assistant manager, things were great until it all fell apart when my epilepsy came back and I had seizures at work.

At least it's quick and easy, especially being that i don't have much time in the mornings for my cuppa 😂.
