Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

Morning @AlwaysMyself, you don't know how amazing it was to wake up to see your name come up in my notifications, it's so lovely to hear from you ❤️.

Tagging has changed since the upgrade of the forums, I have to press enter on my phone as if I was going onto a new line for it to start showing the member I'm trying to tag.

Thankyou sweetheart ❤️.

How are you doing?

@MissGremlin

I'll tag you in my thread update if you're interested - but its lengthy so I know that might be hard to read and no expectation to.

Short version:

- June to early Sept was terrible.

- Had treatment dose in Sept and wow! Massive overnight change.

- past month difficult with now feeling things - overwhelm and anxiety at times. But overall feel OK/good when not overwhelmed by feeling pressure.

- just started adhd meds too which help so far

Content/Trigger warning: Thoughts: Urges
I really want to try and stay strong tonight but I've been in bed for just over half an hour and I already feel exhausted and weak from trying to fight the thoughts and urges. I wish it wasn't this hard, i wish I could have a break from the thoughts and urges, it's too much when they're constantly there and with such intensity.

I'm safe for now, sitting here doing my diamond art with Casper snuggled up next to me and I'm waiting to connect to a crisis service. Just needed to get this out and to not feel so alone.

Re: Battles

Dear @MissGremlin ,

We encourage you to take some offline time as you seek crisis supports.

We acknowledge how difficult it is for you, however sharing ongoing some of the ongoing thoughts may be triggering for the community. I had added a trigger warning to your post.

Thank you for letting the community know you are waiting to be connected to a crisis service. Please continue reaching out to them.

Re: Battles

@BAO I was simply sharing so that I didn't feel alone with everything. I'm sorry if I did the wrong thing.

Re: Battles

Hi @MissGremlin ,

We absolutely acknowledge that staying connected can be so helpful. We are just very mindful to balance the wellbeing of the community as well.

Connection can look different for different people. It can be posting some of your favourite places, sharing affirmations, sharing things you are grateful for as you navigate your way through this valley, sharing what has been helpful in the past. These are just some of the multitudes of ways to stay connected.

Do any of the above resonate with you? If not, that's totally okay too.

Re: Battles

@BAO that's why I only shared thoughts and urges, without going into details.

I share many different things on the forums in lots of threads including inspirational quotes, my crafts that I do, photos I've taken etc. This thread has always been my space to share the harder thoughts whilst I keep the majority of the forums more light and try to keep it a positive space.

Anyway i was just sharing where things were at, it helps to get things out and to not feel so alone with those intense feelings. I still reach out to crisis supports when needed but sometimes it can be quite a wait, so it helps to keep connected here even if it's just knowing that others are sitting with me quietly.

Re: Battles

Would some mindfulness practice be a bit of distraction for you, or even some online games or something? Some people enjoy playing some card games, block blast, candy crush, or whatever they now have online. @MissGremlin

Re: Battles

@BAO as i stated in my first post that I was doing my diamond art, I'm also watching a TV show and have my dog snuggled up next to me.
