Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 it's definitely alot and that's only the beginning, there's other things aswell but I'm not sure what days they're happening yet which makes it hard to be prepared and also anxiety provoking. I really hope they listen, I told them what I needed from them and yet they aren't helping at all, just looking to close off so they can be rid of me 😞.

He's got the lap of luxury 😂.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin That uncertainty would make things even more overwhelming. You deserve to feel heard and supported, not left to manage everything alone, and I hope they listen and understand how much you've been stuggling

It's Casper's world and we're just living in it 😂💛

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 it is definitely so overwhelming and trying to manage alone feels impossible. There's a thought that I've been sitting with for a while but it's particularly loud today, whilst I sit here with chest pains (I'm safe, it's just from stress). But is it bad that in a way I want something to happen naturally, just so I can get a break and then maybe I'd get support. Like that point of where you don't care if something happens that's not in your control, it's so horrible to sit with. I know that's not exactly recovery focused but it's just how I'm feeling, I'm just not sure how to change it.

Haha it most definitely is 😂.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin I’m so sorry you’ve reached a point where you’re feeling this exhausted and desperate for some relief. When you’ve been struggling for so long and feel like you’re not getting the support you need, it’s understandable to wish for a break from it all, it doesn’t mean you’ve failed at recovery

Maybe for now, try to focus on the little things that help you feel grounded, whether that’s having Casper close, resting, or staying connected with someone who understands. You’ve been carrying so much, and getting through one moment at a time is enough

I’m glad you’re sharing how you’re feeling rather than keeping it all to yourself. You matter, and you deserve some relief and support 💛

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 it's so horrible to be at this point. I'm chatting to my wonderful friend who truly gets how I'm feeling, we pull each other through some of the darkest moments. No matter how hard life gets for us, we always have each other and a whole lot of love, plus we both have our gorgeous dogs who are always right by our sides.

Thankyou sweet, your kind words and gentle understanding truly mean so much ❤️.

@Cuddlebear ❤️.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin I’m glad you have such a wonderful friend who understands and supports you. Having someone you can be completely honest with and lean on through those dark moments is so valuable. And of course, having your dogs beside you is an extra bit of love and comfort. You deserve so much support and kindness, especially when things feel this hard.

You're welcome lovely. I’m glad you’re staying connected and you don’t have to sit with everything alone 💛

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 well I just had a big distraction here. I had to call 000 as there was heaps of smoke coming from one of my neighbours houses. 3 fire trucks later and 2 police cars and my street is finally quiet again. The guy was burning stuff in his backyard in 29⁰ weather with wind gusts while he was sitting on his lounge, his response 'it's ok I've got the sprinkler ready if I need it'. I just shake my head, some people don't think 😂.

I'm so lucky to have such an amazing friend, just wish we were actually closer so we could see each other.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin Oh wow, I'm glad you called 000 and that things have settled down now. Burning things in that weather with those wind gusts is certainly a choice 😂

Hopefully it's all quiet for you now so you can have a bit of peace

I completely understand wishing your friend lived closer. It sounds like you have such a special connection, and it's lovely that you can be there for each other even from a distance

Re: Battles

@Nala2022 I had to be social with the entire street, way too many people for my liking 😂. My phone was going crazy as I had the fire service ring me and the ambulance service. I'm glad it's quiet now, but I'm missing my Country fire service days.

We will get to see each other again soon, well about 9ish weeks anyway. But I'm so thankful that we have such a special connection and I'm grateful for the support from you and everyone here aswell ❤️.

Re: Battles

Dropping by to say 'hi' @MissGremlin (my tagging doesnt seem to be working?). Been thinking of forum friends last few days and felt up to coming by this morning. (Hoping I can slowly get re-engaged, even if not as often or perhaps less prolonged sessions as before.)

I'm glad to see you are still here 🥰 despite the challenges and recurrent pain of life.
