Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

Hello @Jynx, being able to keep connected here helps to not feel so alone. I'm trying my best to push through and find reasons to keep doing so even when it feels impossible. Thankyou ❤️.

How are you doing sweet?

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin it's heartening to know how meaningful it is for you to have this space ^_^

I'm doing well, I have been snacking on this amazing beef jerky today so I'm chock full of protein :P

Re: Battles

@Jynx glad to hear you're doing well ☺️. Can't say I've ever had beef jerky, nothing like some good protein though 😋.

I snacked on doritos with cheese supreme dip this morning 😋.

Re: Battles

@MissGremlin oh it's amazing! When you get good stuff anyway. I like when it's flavoured, like sweet BBQ or something. It's very chewy though, if that puts you off!

Doritos are amazing, not had a cheese dip with em though, sounds delicious!

Re: Battles

Hugs my friend @MissGremlin I'm sorry that things are tough, but I'm glad you're reaching out and connecting here and it helps.

I am feeling a little lighter after a psychology appointment yesterday. I'm not 100% sure why, just that it was nice to have someone to talk to about things that were weighing me down.

Hi @Jynx

Re: Battles

@Jynx I might want to steer clear if they're chewy cos of my dodgy jaw, eating is challenging enough at times 😂.

Doritos are so good 😋. They've brought out new dips that live in the fridge dip section, I do recommend trying them at some stage ☺️.

I got really overwhelmed before with things happening and my thoughts got so intense. I'm trying so hard to recognise the warning signs before it gets to a dangerous point but it happens so fast that I'm struggling to catch things in time. I'm safe, just finished cooking dinner and sitting down for a few minutes before I tackle the dishes.

Re: Battles

Thankyou @NightFury my sweet ❤️.

I'm really glad to hear that you're feeling lighter after the psychology appointmen yesterday. Sometimes it's just being able to get things out that can be so helpful, especially when there's been alot going on. Big hugs to you beautiful, never forget how amazing you are ❤️.

I had a doctors appointment today and it looks like I'm going to have yet another diagnosis to add to my ever growing list with my doctor very much confident that I have fibromyalgia. It would make alot of sense with the things I experience, unfortunately treatments are tricky though and it's not curable.

Re: Battles

Glad to hear your appt went well @NightFury that's always awesome to hear! A burden shared is a burden halved and all that jazz ;)

@MissGremlin yes jerky is definitely not for folks who don't want a chew-fest! And thanks for the recommendation I will have to keep an eye out for some cheesy dip! :P

You are doing an amazing job hun, you will get better and better at recognising the signs in time. Sometimes keeping a journal (or like, a logbook in a sense) can really help with keeping track of everything - just a thought, won't work for everyone of course.

You got this ^_^

Re: Battles

@Jynx I have a hard enough time with chewing meats cos it has to be a certain texture before I can swallow it. Ok, now I sound like a crazy person 😂.

Thankyou sweet ❤️. It's just really hard cos those moments afterwards everything is a blur and I have to try to piece things together. Oh well, baby steps and hopefully one day I'll be able to learn how to manage things before they escalate to that point.

Re: Battles

Nah nothing crazy about it @MissGremlin I think it's pretty common for ND folks to struggle with food textures!!

It's hard and it can be scary, but you are not alone <3
