Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

@Captain24 it's definitely chilly where you are then. Hope you can stay warm and rugged up.

I'm glad you emailed her, I'm sure she will be so happy to hear about it. Maybe when you see her next she can help make sense of those different feelings.

Haha oh dear, hopefully she can get one in town otherwise the days going to be tough 😂

Re: Battles

I have a tracksuit on and turn up the air conditioner. Pixie is just going to have to deal with it being warmer in here! @MissGremlin.

We will work on it on Tuesday. She will help decipher things.

She has to go on deliveries soon so I’m sure she will get one then. It made my day though. Just having a laugh but it did hurt my stomach! It was worth it though.

How are you going if you want to talk? I’m trying to keep it light hearted for you if that’s what you prefer right now.

Re: Battles

@Captain24 I'm sitting here with my hoodie on and a blanket on me, can't afford to run the heater though so if i get cold enough I'll just heat up my wheat bag. I'm sure Pixie will be alright, she'll probably find somewhere cool to lay.

That's good that she'll help you on Tuesday.

Well at least she'll be able to get one then. Haha oh I remember laughing after I had my hysterectomy and that hurt, it didn't help that I had to sleep on the uncomfortable lounge cos the ex was in the bed. I'm glad you had a laugh though.

I'm a mess and at the moment I'm so overwhelmed cos I have the roof people back again and they are really loud. My head is still pounding for the 3rd day in a row, my heart is pounding and I'm shaking. I'm safe, I've got a movie on and I'm trying to do my diamond art. All I want to do is lay down and rest but I can't.

Re: Battles

Poor Pix has moved 5 times as I think she is warm but Jett keeps curling up next to her! He gets cold really easily so he is trying to warm up and she is trying to cool down. It’s quite funny for me though! @MissGremlin

That would have been so hard sleeping on the lounge. I do have a question about it though. How long were you in hospital after it? I’m concerned about the hospital stay if that’s my next step.

Im sorry that they are there and making noise. That must be overwhelming for you. I wouldn’t cope. That’s sucks that you still have your headache. That won’t help how you are feeling either.

Do you want to talk about the mess or is it all just too much? I’m sitting with you though and thinking of you.

Re: Battles

@Captain24 haha poor Pix 😂. Jett sounds like a real snuggle buddy.

It was really hard as my lounge is far from comfortable. I was only in for the day as they didn't have to go through my stomach but then I had alot of pain after for about a week though they couldn't work out why when I had to go into the emergency department. I also had to have a severe prolapse repaired at the same time though so it wasn't just the hysterectomy.

I'm over them being here, it was all day yesterday and now today. I'm not able to get enough sleep so I'm stuck with the migraine and pain relief hasn't helped. It's really helping to have you to chat to at the moment, so thankyou for being here.

I'm not sure if I should try to talk about things. Keeping it light feels ok at the moment.

Re: Battles

He is a snuggle buddy. He has to be touching one of us and he is always touching me in bed @MissGremlin. Mum and dad were just here and he was all over dad.

Oh, day surgery sounds good. I’ve been stressing about the hospital stay. The pain doesn’t sound good though big you having extra done makes sense. I’m also worried about the recovery time. I may not need it and I’m not worried about it if I do, whatever will be will be.

Will they finish today? It’s Friday so you may get the weekend to yourself. So you’re not sleeping if a night again with the mania developing?

You can’t even rest with all that going on. I wouldn’t like to anyway with someone there.

Light hearted works for me.

What’s for lunch?

Re: Battles

@Captain24 awww he's such a cutie, he got extra cuddles from your dad too lol.

The recovery time is always dependent on each person but they recommend not driving for 6-8 weeks until fully recovered and of course restrictions with how much you can lift. The pain was horrible but it's at least over and done with now. I got lucky cos alot of people say that they've had to fight so hard to have a hysterectomy done at a young age, i was 31 i think when I had it done but medically it was necessary.

I'm hoping they finish today, right now they are doing massive drilling which is so loud. It's making my head pound more. I'm back to struggling with sleep, I've been awake since 3:12am this morning. Definitely can't rest with them here though, just trying to focus on the movie and I did a bit of my diamond art.

I had eggs on toasted bread for breakfast this morning so that's enough for me today. I don't usually eat breakfast.

What's on the menu for you today?

Re: Battles

I’m worried about the time I’ll need off work. That’s my biggest concern. Mum and dad will drive me around as needed, so that will be ok. @MissGremlin

That noise must hurt so much. Plus the not sleeping. All would be adding to your head both headache and mentally.

I heard back from my psych and the was lots of !!!! She sounds really happy for me. One fear broken. My fear of hospitals. Plus the feeling normal for a little bit. I have a glimmer of hope. But I am extra medicated now as well. I’m on 8 different meds with varying amounts of tablets each day. It’s about 15 tablets.

Eggs on toast sounds good and nourishing. I don’t usually eat breakfast either. I’m have a continental pasta packet for lunch. It’s warm and I’m cold. Plus I have this catholic thing of not eating meat on fridays up until Easter. So it’s something meat free! I was going to have a curried egg sandwich but the saucepan is in the dishwasher so I may have that for dinner.

Any plans for this afternoon or just movie and diamond art?

Re: Battles

@Captain24 the time off work would definitely be hard but at least you have help to get around. I had to walk to the shops and back a couple of days after my surgery as the ex couldn't drive after his surgery either, it really wasn't a good time.

It really is. I thought they were almost finished but nope. It's all getting too much having them here and the constant noise (I'm safe).

I'm glad you heard back and that she's happy for you. Sometimes it can be finding the right medication and dose that can make all the difference with how we feel. Really hoping this is a turning point for you sweet and things get better. Well done with conquering the fear of hospitals too, I know how hard it can be having to go to hospital especially if there's been bad experiences before.

Those continental pastas are good and such a quick meal and a good meat free option too. Curried egg sandwiches are so yummy 😋.

I've packed up the diamond art for now as it was straining my eyes, so now I just have the movie playing.

Re: Battles

Oh that would have been hard @MissGremlin. I’m lucky that I have the support I’ve got. They bought me a few things I needed that I couldn’t get the other day and checked on me. Mum also rang me this morning.

Do you have ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones phones? Something to reduce the pain and overstimulation? I hope they finish soon.

Im hoping it’s a turning point. I’m hoping things are slowly on the up. I’m scared about the up part as I have a hard road to get through first but maybe the new antidepressants will help with that. But at least now there is a glimmer. I haven’t even had a bad experience with hospital just an irrational fear. I can go and visit people but when my uncle was dying we stayed over night and they put me and mum in a room to get some sleep. I heard mum get up so I did too. I was too scared to stay there in my own.

It was really good and warming! I love curried egg sandwiches and make them often to take to work.

Is it a good movie or is it a comfort movie?
