Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

Battles

Battles

Hi all, does anyone else just feel like life is just one big sh!t show? It's just one thing after another, constant drama, family issues, money struggles, stress, anxiety it's just always something.

When do things get easier, do things ever change?

I've been through more than i care to think about in my life but today has pushed me to breaking point and it's bringing up alot of bad memories of previous suicide attempts.

I just feel like it's not worth it, it's not worth fighting, not worth hanging on anymore.

Re: Battles

It would be nice to be able to go out and stand in it. @MissGremlin. I find that really grounding and calming. Fingers crossed that we get something.

Re: Battles

The first time I was in hospital, it rained one night and I stood out in it. I went back in a went to the meds line and one girl said to me your jumper is all wet. I just said that I had been standing in the rain. She just oh ok. No questions no nothing, it was just accepted. @MissGremlin. Everyone is accepted as they are.

There was another day on my last visit, I was sitting in the med line and just had tears streaming down my face. The girl next to me was a friend and she just got up and went to her room and got me her little plushie for me to just stroke. No words no nothing just silent understanding. I then went outside for a smoke and was sitting in the driveway, still tears streaming down my face. My psych drove in and saw me. She was coming over and the same friend questioned her to see if she was a nurse. She wasn’t letting anyone near me. I heard my psych speak and knew it was her so I lifted my head and my friend was then ok.

Can you see why that place means so much..

Re: Battles

I wish you could go somewhere like that @MissGremlin. I think it would help you so much.

Re: Battles

@Captain24 i wish we all had a place like that to go to. If only everyone that struggled with mental health could get the right support, it would make it so much easier to manage things.

Re: Battles

It would make everything much easier. @MissGremlin. They are looking to move the same concept into a different hospital but I won’t be able to go again. I can’t get a babysitter for Pix, I won’t trust anyone with her needles. Mum won’t look after them for that long and doesn’t like the fact that I go there. She doesn’t see it as important.

Having been makes things easier for my psych too. She can talk about things like ‘window of tolerance’ and stuff and I get what she is talking about rather than her having to explain it all.

Re: Battles

@Captain24 it's a shame that you won't be able to go and also that your mum doesn't see it as important.

That's helpful that you know what she's talking about without her having to explain it all.

Re: Battles

Mum has no idea about MH @MissGremlin My auntie got scheduled and mum just says ‘she cracked up’ She has no idea and is quite nasty about it.

It is.. it saves time and I’ve gone through some of it a few times so it’s just about prompts.

How are you going?

Re: Battles

@Captain24 I'm sorry that it's like that sweet, it really does make it hard. I do understand what it's like when family don't seem to get it and get nasty about it.

Things have crashed down for me (I'm safe). I'm sitting here with an audiobook playing but I haven't heard one word of it cos I'm dissociating. I have my diamond art and a new colouring book in front of me but I just can't do anything at the moment.
