The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

Welcome to The Sane Cattery, the totally rational, completely normal place where we - totally sane humans - gather to admire our feline overlords. This is a judgment-free zone (unless your cat is the one doing the judging, which, let’s be honest, they always are). Feel free to share photos of your majestic moggies, chaotic kitties, and everything in between. Whether they’re plotting world domination, defying the laws of physics, or simply loafing like sentient bread, we want to see them. Because nothing says "sane" like dedicating an entire discussion to our tiny, furry dictators.

Allow me to begin...

Here is our oldest, Roughy who is 9.

Ryker, who is 7. Trying to convince himself he still fits in this thing like a glove!

And the latest edition, Luna (14 weeks)

...and another one of Luna, 'cause she's so damn cute.

I have been instructed to say that she was in no way stuck, and was just testing my responsiveness.

Re: The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

@GezzaP I've taken a pain killer (a strong one) and an anti-inflammatory plus I used my shoulder massager - best $40 I've spent on Amazon! - and it is better but still not perfect.
I am waiting for the sun to move so I can water the plants - my antipsychotic, bless it, causes photosensitivity and I have fair skin anyway so I burn easily. My oldest friend even got me a hat to wear in the garden...she knows me well lol!

I read elsewhere you had spanakopita for lunch, I am dying to go shopping to get the ingredients so I can make it!

I am starting a diet on Monday so this weekend I am going all out and having chips cooked in the deep fryer, shortbread and choc chip bickies, then come Monday it will be veg, fruit and lean meat, everything low fat and low carb. My brother who also needs to lose weight but doesn't want to is not impressed lol!

Do you have a particular recipe for your spanakopita? I have been looking online for one but if yours isn't a secret recipe and you'd like to share it that would be great. No pressure though my friend 🙂

Enjoy the cool weather, time for snuggling up and watching TV with your puss cat definitely.

@Mustang67 your cat reminds me of my cat Thumper. Thumper has also crossed the rainbow bridge like your furbabies.
I am so sorry your stuff got destroyed in storage, I can't imagine how that must have been for you.

He was the sweetest most lovely boy. I have so many stories about him that I might share in a separate post. I love hearing stories about cats and their antics.

@ENKELI she does look like Thumper. Here are a few more photos of her. She was a great cat and got on with the dogs really well.

Her early years

@ENKELI Here’s the recipe: get a largish bowl. Take filo pastry sheets out of freezer to thaw. Whip a egg lightly in bowl add sauteed onion (1 small onion), slice up large bunch of silverbeet or spinach (you can use frozen spinach if you have to). Blanch in boiling water. Add generous amount of grated parmesan and 3 diced slices of feta cheese to bowl. Drain spinach/silverbeet cool you can run cold water on it to speed up. Squeeze water out of spinach/silverbeet. Add to bowl and stir. Unwrap about 8 sheets of filo pastry. Place in an oven tray. Spoon mix into centre of filo. Wrap filo around spinach/silverbeet. Put olive oil on filo just before cooking. Use oil to seal filo. Bake in oven 180 degrees fan forced for 20-30 minutes until golden brown. Enjoy! Reheat in 170 degree no fan for 20 minutes.

Yes I’m up early again. Slept ok nearly 6 hours. Will probably snooze later. Will water and if I feel like it put soil wetter in garden water repellant areas. Then if I can face it I’ll apply biodynamic fertilizer. See how cold it is and how much energy I have.

Good Morning Cat Lovers

I found some more pictures of Cindy today, so I wanted to share them with you all.

Cindy managed to get this sticker on her paw somehow. Lol

Re: The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

@Goldy71 Thanks you for your post. How old is Tiger? She is adorable 🤗 I think that my previous cat Reggie (the tabby) had a missing tooth. That's when you know they are starting to get old.

I remember my family having a cat very similar to Tiger when I was young, its name was Sandy (I can't remember if it was a male or female). All I can remember about that cat, was that it got its back paw caught in a rabbit trap and the cat was my oldest sister's cat. And my childhood cat was very similar to Cindy and her name was Sweetness.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day.
