The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

The Sane Cattery: Because normal is overrated

Welcome to The Sane Cattery, the totally rational, completely normal place where we - totally sane humans - gather to admire our feline overlords. This is a judgment-free zone (unless your cat is the one doing the judging, which, let’s be honest, they always are). Feel free to share photos of your majestic moggies, chaotic kitties, and everything in between. Whether they’re plotting world domination, defying the laws of physics, or simply loafing like sentient bread, we want to see them. Because nothing says "sane" like dedicating an entire discussion to our tiny, furry dictators.

Allow me to begin...

Here is our oldest, Roughy who is 9.

Ryker, who is 7. Trying to convince himself he still fits in this thing like a glove!

And the latest edition, Luna (14 weeks)

...and another one of Luna, 'cause she's so damn cute.

I have been instructed to say that she was in no way stuck, and was just testing my responsiveness.

@Mustang67 Cindy is so adorable! My eldest cat Trudy was abused previously so it took her a long time to feel comfortable, she spends a lot of time on my bed. Her daughter Lightning will hide if we have any visitors. The sisters Mulberry and Gooseberry are snuggly and love strangers too. My Mother is like Snow White, all animals love her and the cats will always be around her. Our cats our indoors as this is a requirement when adopting from certain organisations but we have a cat run built along the whole length of the back of the house. A couple days ago they caught a lizard in the cat run and brought it in the house. We managed to save the lizard, it’s okay.

@Jynx I wish my 2 would play nice with each other! Mal is a bully because he thinks he rules the world while Gypsy tries her best to avoid him. He often gets told off for being mean to his sister. They are not related and they tolerate each other, unlike my cats Loki and Thumper. They fought like cats and...well cats for a long time!!

They certainly are a source of cuteness that's for sure. Your babies are gorgeous 🙂

@Fenegyerek my sister is like your mum. Even "The Devil" allows her to pat her without being bitten or scratched. And that's why I call her "The Devil" cat because she will come up am smooch you and you bend down to pat her which she will let you do for a little while and without warning she will either bite or scratch you. So I just let her be and only pat her very briefly.

When we first got Cindy she hid under the bed for the first two weeks and if my partner raised his voice at anytime, she would find somewhere to hide and we noticed that she didn't like males, so I think the male of the couple that previously owned her, must not have been very nice to her. She has come a long way since then.

When I first had no where to live and I was taken in by my niece's partner's parents, they allowed me to bring Cindy with me. They had 3 cats of their own and also were breeders of staffies. They had about 12 dogs in total and 3 of them lived inside. So we had Cindy in a big rabbits cage for a few days, so all the animals could get used to each other. Six months later when I left, it was like she ruled the house. If any of the cats went in my room, she would chase them out. And she wasn’t bothered by the dogs at all. And if they bugged her, she would just give them a little swipe and put them back in their place. Lol

And she has done the same at mum's. Because she is more of an inside cat and the others are outside, if one of the cats ventures into the kitchen, she will chase them out. And she will basically go to anyone now, except children. I just love her to bits.

I am glad the lizard is ok.
