Something’s not right

Don’t want to accept the pain

Don’t want to accept the pain

Why can’t I pretend the pain isn’t real, maybe if I tell myself I’m okay and I don’t struggle with mental health I’ll be okay. Maybe if I tell myself that the traumatic memories aren’t real, then I can finally feel whole and less gross. Maybe I’ll just wake up from this dream soon and I’ll find peace within my mind when I do wake up. Maybe I’m okay, maybe there isn’t anything wrong with me

@Ru-bee being able to work helped. But it is very hard, every time I slow my brain, it speeds up again. I have found music and prayer helpful. But it’s still hard. The urges start kicking in, I couldn’t stop thinking when I was on the bus on the way back. I had a specialist appointment today. I just came back home

It does definitely sound hard @creative_writer sometimes the best we can do is try to keep these things at bay with things like work and prayer and music, and hope that when they do return they're a little less forceful. I'm about to head off for the evening, but do you have anything planned for the evening now that you're home? Is there room to have some time listening to music or praying tonight?

I hope the night is more gentle for you, and I'll catch up with you soon

@Ru-bee I’m exhausted and drained of living in my head. I don’t know if there is much I can say or do. It just is.

I hope you have a chill evening. Catch you next time 💖

How do I make it stop?

Hello @creative_writer. I can see that things are feeling really big in your body right now. Would you like to try some grounding exercises together, talk it out, or explore some distractions? Let me know what you need, I am here with you. 💛

@AuntGlow I can try to slow down my breathing. But I need these urges to stop, I’m too tired to fight them

That's okay, I know it's a lot at the moment, so we won't try to push or force. Maybe we can invite them to hear that they aren't needed right now and that you are safe. Shall we breathe together? Or would you like to follow the video I sent to you yesterday? 💛

@AuntGlow I’m currently listening to a delta wave track, I’m hoping it helps me wind down. Sleep can be hard when I’m agitated. It does get hard to have to resist suicidal ideation. Like my mind goes places and images come up

@creative_writer Okay, I am glad to hear you have found something soothing to listen to - what do you like about Delta Waves? I haven't explored them much. 🤔

That makes a lot of sense, it would be hard to disengage from those thoughts when you are agitated. I am curious to know if you have explored progressive muscle relaxation for this agitation at all? It can be incredibly helpful for releasing tension in the body and you can do it laying down. ☺️
