Something’s not right

Don’t want to accept the pain

Don’t want to accept the pain

Why can’t I pretend the pain isn’t real, maybe if I tell myself I’m okay and I don’t struggle with mental health I’ll be okay. Maybe if I tell myself that the traumatic memories aren’t real, then I can finally feel whole and less gross. Maybe I’ll just wake up from this dream soon and I’ll find peace within my mind when I do wake up. Maybe I’m okay, maybe there isn’t anything wrong with me

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@AuntGlow I need to discuss meds with my pdoc tomorrow. I am also stuck on how to work with OCD thoughts related to trauma. Like I want to be able to work through it, but I’m not entirely sure how.

The massage does help with circulation and pain. I take less hair shed as a good sign. Hair isn’t great, it probably needs time, but I’m no longer shedding loads

@creative_writer is this something you have brought up before with therapists? I am happy to talk about this more with you, but just aware that I am finishing at 10. I definitely want to talk about this further, so perhaps on Sunday? ☺️

That is 100% a good sign! I think things will only improve from here, that's wonderful to hear.

I hope you have a wonderful sleep and weekend. 💛

@AuntGlow I’ve spoken a bit about holding conflicting beliefs, but I can bring it up again.

I hope you sleep well and have a lovely weekend 💖

@creative_writer we can talk about whatever you would like, I can go back and have a read as well. But always happy to address what could be helpful regarding OCD brain (mine works in a similar way, so that's why I am happy to talk things out with you!).

You too. 🥰✨

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@AuntGlow talking about the thoughts would fall under “rumination” and won’t be “recovery-orientated”. So maybe I need to hold the thoughts myself. I don’t feel like I can talk about those thoughts again on the forums.

We can talk about managing OCD thoughts, because that is “recovery-orientated”

@creative_writer Looking at strategies that help with non-engagement would be really helpful. You are allowed to talk about the experience you are having though, always. We will just do our best to help you with regulating and not feeding the compulsion or rumination cycle. I really like the work of Alegra Kastens, you might find her Instagram page very helpful in more heightened moments. 🤗

How are things feeling for you today?
