Something’s not right

Don’t want to accept the pain

Don’t want to accept the pain

Why can’t I pretend the pain isn’t real, maybe if I tell myself I’m okay and I don’t struggle with mental health I’ll be okay. Maybe if I tell myself that the traumatic memories aren’t real, then I can finally feel whole and less gross. Maybe I’ll just wake up from this dream soon and I’ll find peace within my mind when I do wake up. Maybe I’m okay, maybe there isn’t anything wrong with me

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@rav3n I never wanted things to escalate this far, I don’t know what happened.

I have created a safety plan, though I haven’t discussed it with my current psych yet.

That’s okay that you added the trigger warning. Is there a function where I am also able to add a trigger warning too? I’ve never knew how the trigger warning thing worked on the forums

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

Hello lovely @creative_writer, thank you so much for this update. Despite being exhausted, I can see you have taken care of yourself in some really nourishing ways, as well as being productive by scanning the documents for your psychs. These may seem like small actions, but they really are big wins. I'm so proud of you!

I know that admitting asking for help feels scary right now and I also know you have a creative imagination that may be conjuring up some challenging images. To counteract this, when you have the space, perhaps you could consider what the best possible outcome could look like? And when you consider that, notice how it feels in your body. I am looking forward to your reflections with this.

Also, it's okay to have a part of you that is in denial, this is very confronting stuff, so please be gentle with yourself. I can see you really want support, and you will get there, I promise.

What is one thing you could do to more safely release the agitation you are feeling tonight? 💛

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@AuntGlow my creative imagination can be frustrating.

TW: Even if I try to make my space safe to help resist SI, my mind sort of drifts to others ways. I know I don’t want to die, I wasn’t even able to go through with it.

Right now I’m just lost. I don’t even know where to go, I just want to feel better. I’m seeking support. I also took my PRN tonight. Maybe sleep will help. Adequate sleep is really important for agitation to settle. I have been feeling lots of tension in my body and super restless. My mind is going a million miles per hour. I need to somehow slow down. I could try breathing and prayer. I am going to do my night skincare right now

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@creative_writer that's great that you've got your safety plan already, and if you are struggling on how to bring this up with psych, maybe even chatting up about updating it with her can be a segue into talking about the SI/SH.

ofc, here's some screenshots to help out:

1. click on the expand toolbar (...)

2. then there's a caution symbol shaped as a triangle with an ! inside - clicking that will add the content warning/spoiler tag textbox in. then you just write inside the textbox whatever you want hidden.

feel free to reach out if you have more questions!

and also, i absolutely hear that you didn't expect things to escalate - sometimes we don't see it coming and those thoughts/feelings hit us harder than we expect. it can be scary, but it doesn't mean you deserve to feel that way. you deserve to be here. 💜

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@creative_writer I can understand this... mine can be too and it can really overwhelm my nervous system. Sleep will definitely help with this.

I know how scary it can be to feel lost or like you don't know where to go. Something led you here, which is a very positive step towards more support. This shows me that you are well on your way to working things out. It just takes a little time. 💖

Breathing, skin care, and prayer sound like wonderful ways to slow things down. Please let me know how you go.

If you're still feeling a sense of agitation, maybe you could explore some somatic exercises like shaking your body, pushing your hands against a wall, or tensing and releasing your muscles? I find things like this really help with agitation.

Thank you for letting me know that you are safe. 💛

@rav3n I have a lot to update her on.

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@rav3n opps I accidentally posted too earlier. Emotions can hit hard, and it just comes out of nowhere. It’s probably a combination of things. I have been struggling to complete tasks, bipolar is out of control and then cptsd is rough with flashbacks. Probably lots of built up and suppressed emotions. I’m not always good at releasing it.

@AuntGlow somatic stuff can help, I do want to learn more about mind and body connection, I feel like it would be super helpful. I want to learn to release pent up emotions. Sometimes they aren’t words for emotions, I often feel so much stuck within me.

I’m going to sleep @rav3n and @AuntGlow. I hope you both sleep well 💖

I’m feeling better than yesterday (still not great), I just hope it stays that way. I am mindful my mood tends to be worse later in the day.

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@rav3n feeling pretty flat out right now with a heavy head. I’m still depressed but the agitation has settled.

I’ve been able to get a psychiatrist appointment on the 23rd instead of 27th (it’s the soonest I could get). I have my psychologist appointment tomorrow. Though I’m dreading letting them know what happened yesterday.

At this point I don’t see a way out of this yet. Maybe it’ll get easier with time. I feel like I’m losing my sanity and my brain is too clogged up to function. Paying attention is harder, doing things is hard even though I have stuff that needs to be done
