Something’s not right

Don’t want to accept the pain

Don’t want to accept the pain

Why can’t I pretend the pain isn’t real, maybe if I tell myself I’m okay and I don’t struggle with mental health I’ll be okay. Maybe if I tell myself that the traumatic memories aren’t real, then I can finally feel whole and less gross. Maybe I’ll just wake up from this dream soon and I’ll find peace within my mind when I do wake up. Maybe I’m okay, maybe there isn’t anything wrong with me

@creative_writer I think cos they literally don't know how else to behave in a way that will get their needs met, especially if they've been led to believe that acting in a way that is empathetic is somehow weakness.

Yeah definitely do, I hear really good things!!

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@Jynx I think that’s part of it. Jealousy and envy is also so prevalent in the modern world and maybe social media plays a role. Some people don’t want to see others’ successes because they want to be on top (probably their way of trying to meet their needs).

Everyone has their own preferences, but I prefer the private life. I know you do need to make sure you don’t go to the extreme of shutting yourself out either. It’s more about being open with the right people.

I’m headed off to bed now. Wishing you a good night 💖

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

I’m so confused, if I need support but have no words to describe how I am feeling. What am I supposed to say if I call a helpline. My brain is so scattered. I just took a PRN to slow it down. I do hope SANE’s chat service returns soon, my brain isn’t braining and conversations are hard

Hey @creative_writer I'm here if you need someone to talk to.

How are you feeling now, has the PRN helped a little?

@Ru-bee I’m doing a bit better. I’m hoping things settle more soon. It’s really hard to describe how I’m feeling, it feels like I’m suffocating

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

Suffocating like you're feeling a bit smothered mentally by all your thoughts, or like you can't quite physically catch your breath @creative_writer? Or is it something else entirely?

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@Ru-bee my thoughts are loud and racing, it’s confusing. It’s hard to slow down my brain, and this pent up nervous energy isn’t helping. My heart is also beating faster than usual

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

Would any movement help to release some of that nervous energy @creative_writer even if it's just shaking your hands out, or perhaps taking a moment to try to focus your thoughts on your breath

Do you have any plans for the evening?

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@Ru-bee I am naturally a very restless person, so I’ve been moving a lot today, it sort of helps. I’m trying to breathe, I do feel acidity at the back of my throat.

I haven’t planned much for the evening. I’m been struggling to do things, I keep ruminating
