Something’s not right

Don’t want to accept the pain

Don’t want to accept the pain

Why can’t I pretend the pain isn’t real, maybe if I tell myself I’m okay and I don’t struggle with mental health I’ll be okay. Maybe if I tell myself that the traumatic memories aren’t real, then I can finally feel whole and less gross. Maybe I’ll just wake up from this dream soon and I’ll find peace within my mind when I do wake up. Maybe I’m okay, maybe there isn’t anything wrong with me

Do you talk to your siblings much @creative_writer ?

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@tyme I do. I live with both of my siblings. Though being the oldest child can be difficult at times, you sort of become the second parent and the glue of the family.

You have mentioned you see your sister’s children often. Are you close with your sister? Do you have any other siblings?

@creative_writer Oh true, your sister got OCD traits eh? Do you two support each other with it?

Nice, job app in!! Kudos 😊

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

Yeah, I see @creative_writer . So I guess you can't talk to them much about deeper things...

I see my sister's kids a lot. Every day because they are next door.

I have two sisters. I'm in the middle.... middle child syndrome?

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@Jynx I don’t talk to her about trauma. I just couldn’t. Trauma is a significant driving factor for my OCD.

It wasn’t a job I was interested in, but I’m just applying widely right now. I feel like hospitals would give me bad sensory overload. It’s so hard to find a suitable job. I can’t work full time which limits it.

I’m just thinking. Maybe I do want to get married. But I don’t know how it’ll work with SA. I’m also on meds so can’t get pregnant and fertility starts going down once you get older. I need time to stabilise my mental health

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@tyme they know I have MH issues but I don’t discuss the issues on a deeper level. My sister also has her own MH issues too, I wouldn’t want to burden her. I see her as a little baby even though she is a full grown adult.

It does sound like you’re very close to the kids and I’m sure they see you as an amazing aunt 😊

Middle child syndrome is real, my brother is the victim of that syndrome.

@creative_writer what's got you thinking about marriage hun? Just idle thoughts?

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@Jynx I think it stems from thinking about what my old psych said. Maybe talking about her unconsciously brought some stuff up. Kind of brings up second guessing thoughts about whether I’m suitable. I have baggage. I have chronic MH struggles and chronic pain

Suitable according to whom @creative_writer? Social and cultural ideas can certainly influence relationships, but they only dictate them if we let them.

Re: Don’t want to accept the pain

@Jynx maybe I give too much emphasis on society. At the end of the day I want to feel loveable and worthy despite being broken
