Fitness journey 2025

Fitness journey 2025

I have started this thread to help us achieve our goals for 2025 and beyond. But also, to stay connected and supported. To build a stronger community, and a place we can all join in, and talk about our challenges, and achievements. But more importantly, a place where we all feel like we belong and have a purpose. I encourage everyone to share information and their stories.

Tomorrow I'm wanting to go to the gym and also to go for quite a long walk.

@Eve7 @oceangirl I've been walking 2km . And I've gone back to picking up street litter and using SnapSendSolve to report the many problems to Council. When I've got a couple more bags of litter I'll ask Council to pick them up. It's 12 months since I was able to do that so I'm happy with progress. The osteopath gave me some back and shoulder stretches so that should make a difference too.

Well done, I bet you feel better too. I went to the gym today, I also went for a short walk. No gym or training tomorrow- perhaps a walk though. Friday is gym and pool.

Re: Fitness journey 2025

had the usual chronic back problems here @oceangirl @Dimity @Eve7 @Appleblossom @Zol i can do what dimity did or even double a few months ago them have to take time off, lose motivation etc did two today shopping and couldnt get a park near hosp where had knee xrays to confirm bad knee is better then worse knee lol. ok am trying to do a claim for d s p I am lead to believe after 2 years w DES provider then points requirement becomes 20 total not 20 for one thing. so remember knees when at drs other week. that was actually what stopped me working. torn meniscus. it was in what was my 'good' knee. so after discussing w dr it was decided to check other knee . pretty sure its same or worse, just hasnt had that last bit give out yet. ie the stuff between bones that got trapped apparently. they can determine arthritis levels, bone spacings tho. it doesnt hurt when walking, and doesnt hurt in general. when stopped me working I couldnt stand on it and was on nice cocktail of painkillers (increased dose already taking for back, [edited by moderator] ha ha lol that was how I intended to spend my retirement lol, not taking anything at all now come off the painkillers [edited by moderator] a few times since and other stuff was for like a week at the time. did 2 today anyways. sweated like a pig as was around 1pm , usually walk be4 dawn lol

I am back most days doing physio and today I did a short walk. Not too motivated to walk heaps as I don’t want to stress my hips. However my son has said I am owed a good walk somewhere spesh, so will look forward to that.

I am losing weight , so that is great. It’s the first time in years I jump on the scales as I am trying to be aware and keep weight down. Mostly I just try and do functional exercise and not stress about number on the scale.

Eating more protein and less carbs…eating better than ever.

Re: Fitness journey 2025

@Eve7 we need to go gently bently when doing rehab. I have been doing rehab since the mid 1980s when I first had neck problems. Slow and steady but be careful with technique.

Well done @oceangirl

I agree re going gently @Appleblossom @Eve7 @TAB . Consistency is better than occasional heroics. I'm trying to find new routines, new patterns.

I'm hoping to get a gym session in on Tuesday. Tomorrow is a busy day for me- dropping my dogs off at kennels and working in the afternoon/evening. I'm travelling interstate on Monday, and I will be away until late Friday night.
