SC SH thoughts

SC SH thoughts

Every morning I leave home and wonder if I have the strength to go through another day.

I've made it so far, surely I can make it again?

Will it ever get easier, more predictable or will I be able to accept myself as I am?

Re: SC SH thoughts

Hi @SteamedToast,

I am feeling a little more settled, but beaten. I don't know like a train hit me. Always need a few days to recover from the physical symptoms of my lash out. Been very very angry this morning but not really feeling much else.

Re: SC SH thoughts

Glad to hear you are a little more settled @Former-Member. I definitely agree it takes some time for things to return to "normal". Take some time for you today.

I just had an appointment with the psych and spoke a lot about anger. I ended up going home and baking bread - I found it very therapeutic punching and kneading the dough. I felt it was a good acknowledgement of my feelings but also kinda productive.

I hope the rest of today is kind to you - I am around if you need someone to vent to. Sending you love. X

Hi @SteamedToast

Can you actually steam toast? Like I steamed Chinese dumpling? Just asking because you talk about baking and I wondered about your name.

I feel a bit in a dead end road. I feel I'm whinging too much and need too much support and I'm just over being this weak little person. I broke out in tears yesterday in front of a receptionist and just had to leave. I just don't know what is wrong with me. I know this week has been testing, but I'm just so over being like this.

Where is the person gone that I used to be?

I feel that too.The job provider I went into the other day,I acted like someone I did not know, did not want to know I was crying, defensive, and paranoid.I don't know where I went either.Going to psychologist today and doctor to get another medical exemption, feel like such a failure stuck.

Re: SC SH thoughts

Hi @Former-Member. It's good to hear from you this morning 🙂

I don't hear any whinging from you at all. It takes a lot of strength to reach out for support and speak out when you feel so much distress. I'm so sorry you got to breaking point yesterday with the receptionist. It's not fun to feel out of control with your emotions. Is there anything specific going on this week, or just been a generally emotionally difficult one?

Last week was a nasty one for me too. Getting out of bed/getting dressed felt like mt biggest achievement - you did well to even get out of the house! I will celebrate that little victory for you, even if you can't right now.

Also I am yet to figure out how to actually steam toast! The name is just a little bit of fun inspired from a very old episode of the simpsons I was watching at the time 🙂

I hope today is kind to you. X

Re: SC SH thoughts

Good morning @Former-Member

Sorry to hear about your experience with the job provider. Is that similar to a recruitment agency? I have also been out of work for a while now - I think 3-4 months maybe? I have found the market really difficult, especially as I really want to be able to find somewhere that can be flexible and supportive. If only all work places could be understanding.

That's great you are going to the doc/psych today. That to me is a victory. I know we would all rather not have to be seeing our various health professionals, but it is wonderful you have reached out.

Hopefully you can have a second shot at chatting with the recruiter when you are feeling more up to it. I am sure they would be used to people of all walks of life and would understand that it's a stressful thing to do, regardless of any mental health issues.

Sending you kind thoughts today - I hope your appointments go well.

Re: SC SH thoughts

Good Morning @Former-Member @SteamedToast @Former-Member 🙂

I've been curious about steaming toast too, what a great conversation starter!

I'd like to support you by reminding you, our wonderful forum community, of the goodness I see as a moderator continuely here on the forums. You guys are amazing at articulating where you are and how you are feeling in way that seems to me very powerful and authentic. I don't see anyone here 'whinging' or 'needing too much support' that's what this community space is all about. How great is that to have somewhere we can connect with others and have a space where we can be authentic. Being authentic for me is so important, it helps me feel connected to myself and assists me to make better choices in a direction of the person I want to be and life I want to be living. That's my little take on authenticity anyway

Sounds like it's been a massive week for you @Former-Member I wonder if there's something you can do for yourself that helps you feel more connected with you? A walk, or dancing to your favourite song, speaking with someone, visiting a favourite place etc?

I havent popped over to the Febfast thread yet, will do so soon, you seem to be charging your way through. Great work.

Pebbles 🙂
