Talking through trauma and PTSD

Running

Running

"Behind every strong person is a story that gave them no choice"

My life is all about a lack of choice.

I'm alive because death would've outed him, it would have sealed his fate in prison.

TW: cultic, rape, trafficking, torture

I'm the daughter of a Satanist...

One trained to breed...

One pregnant at 6 years old...

One prostituted to whoever could afford her...

The girl her dad didn't want...

One men hired to have fun with...

One men experimented with...

One who was tortured for speaking up...

One trained for the sole purpose to please her buyer...

Regardless of age...

Still though...

One who never stayed silent...

One who broke free... twice...

One who rose up...

One who seeks to prove them wrong...

One who has been running for 15 years...

One who just needs to feel heard...

One who went through hell and survived...

That this Phoenix can rise...

She will not be burned...

She's proven that...

I have proven that...

I'm 35 and 90% of those I've been in prolonged abusive situations insufficient evidence for prosecution

A system that protects the abuser more than the survivor

And yet I still try

I don't try for me, I try for the ones after me, the ones like me, that they will see their justice

But for now I run...

From a dad that wants me silenced...

From the nightmares that plague my sleep...

From the memories that invade my mind...

From the choices made for me...

Didn't expect that to come out as poetic as it did

Re: Running

It's like re-living the trauma and the past. I'm hearing you and I hear how much it hurts right now. What are you doing to look after yourself? I know you rewarded yourself with a plushie - that's a start. So proud of your achievement. @avant-garde It's a HUGE achievement and I'm not going to even try to say otherwise.

As for me, I'm on the mend. No complaints on my side.

@tyme jigsaw puzzles, reaching out as best as I can, making sure I eat and have coffee and kicking tyres with steel capped shoes

Re: Running

Kicking tyres with steel caps is a new one I've heard. Do you have the pink steel caps? I like them, but I'll never wear them so I dont' have any @avant-garde

Do you go out with people for coffee, ever?

It sounds like you had a lovely friend who was able to go with you and stay with you that day.

You mean a lot to the community here, including me.

Pink is a disgusting hideous colour and I would never buy pink shoes, or pink anything. The only reason for me to ever consider anything pink is that it's my best friends favourite colour.

Mens steel cap sneakers are not pink.

Yeah I have friends I have coffee with sometimes, also some idiots I have coffee with sometimes.

Mostly they leave me alone and think I'm fine, even when I tell them otherwise they seem to think I don't need them.

My head is saying "I mean a lot? But I don't matter"

It's hard to argue with it right now if I'm honest

Re: Running

Fair enough @avant-garde . Each to their own. Yes, some people can't stand pink - and you're one of them.

Is there anyone from your church you can connect with?

Re: Running

@tyme

I find it frustrating when people try and problem solve my situation.

I am a smart, intelligent and resourceful young woman who tries to reach out to people in her church and community so when people suggest that I try that, it causes me to feel angry that they seem to think I'm not trying.

In fact it's the opposite that sometimes I don't have the energy or capacity to be stonewalled again.

Because that's what they do. They have their lives and I have mine and they don't have time for me and if they do they give up on me anyway, that I'm too much drama. But I keep trying to the point of what could be considered insanity.

I appreciate what you're trying to do, but I honestly find it unhelpful as it seems to make the assumption that I haven't already tried.
