Talking through trauma and PTSD

Running

Running

"Behind every strong person is a story that gave them no choice"

My life is all about a lack of choice.

I'm alive because death would've outed him, it would have sealed his fate in prison.

TW: cultic, rape, trafficking, torture

I'm the daughter of a Satanist...

One trained to breed...

One pregnant at 6 years old...

One prostituted to whoever could afford her...

The girl her dad didn't want...

One men hired to have fun with...

One men experimented with...

One who was tortured for speaking up...

One trained for the sole purpose to please her buyer...

Regardless of age...

Still though...

One who never stayed silent...

One who broke free... twice...

One who rose up...

One who seeks to prove them wrong...

One who has been running for 15 years...

One who just needs to feel heard...

One who went through hell and survived...

That this Phoenix can rise...

She will not be burned...

She's proven that...

I have proven that...

I'm 35 and 90% of those I've been in prolonged abusive situations insufficient evidence for prosecution

A system that protects the abuser more than the survivor

And yet I still try

I don't try for me, I try for the ones after me, the ones like me, that they will see their justice

But for now I run...

From a dad that wants me silenced...

From the nightmares that plague my sleep...

From the memories that invade my mind...

From the choices made for me...

Didn't expect that to come out as poetic as it did

@Jynx

Maybe after the surgery because I'm barely holding it together

I need to find these blasted shoes though.

Mens size 11

Orthotic compatible

Open toe

Aka sandals that take orthotics

Women's sandals won't last 4-6 weeks of everyday use.

They're made to look pretty not as everyday wear.

I found 1 brand in 1 style.

And my orthotics are 12cm wide.

Yeah good luck.

Went to a dozen shoe stores today

Some of the staff needed brains

Re: Running

@avant-garde very frustrating process by the sounds of it. I can imagine it is prohibitively expensive to have shoes specially made.

I have wide feet, and it can definitely be hard to find shoes that accommodate that. If hiking shoes are an option (as I know they can be exxy too) I've found that the brand Keen seems to fit well. Definitely not pretty, but very comfy and supportive.

Good luck with the hunt, eh?

Hope you have a smooth night hun. Sending you hugs, extra squishy 💜

Re: Running

@Jynx

I asked Google AI if I could use sports tape to fix the orthotics to my feet. It said no. It suggested Velcro dots to normal sandals as I only need them for 3-6 weeks.

I was actually just being stupid when I asked that out of sheer frustration.

Re: Running

Aye so valid @avant-garde 😅

Is this a post-surgery thing, to wear these special orthotics?

Re: Running

@Jynx

No, I have flat feet

One of the PSW's at group today said that since I need new sneakers anyway to just cut the toe box off my current ones.

I've done one shoe, it works well

Re: Running

Oooh clever @avant-garde! Hope they provide you with some relief/comfort 😊

Feet and shoes are important! I've heard this saying - 'Always ensure high quality/support in items that connect your body to the ground'; i.e. shoes, chairs, mattresses 😉

@Jynx

Our power had been out for 9.5hrs again today (pole was damaged) and it just came back on.

The hymn that came to mind was "there is power, power, wonder working power"

I know it's not what the song means but I didn't get distressed this time around!

@tyme - because she likes hymns too

Re: Running

@avant-garde with all the claims you have made I thought this might be of use to you -

https://www.herspace.org.au/

It is a non profit organisation for true survivors of sexual exploitation and slavery.

This is not intended to inflame you (as everything I tend to say does) but an offer for help as you seem to need it.

Re: Running

@ENKELI

That resource is irrelevant to my history and I do not appreciate the suggestion.

I am capable of researching and engaging with my own relevant support.

I don't want to receive any further links, resources, or 'offers of help' regarding this, unless I explicitly ask for them.

Please respect this boundary and leave this matter alone.

Re: Running

@avant-garde The forum requests you speak with kindness and I would appreciate you doing so.

Whatever problem you have with me, let it go and please don't be so hurtful to me. This was genuine and I didn't ever state you weren't capable of research. I apologise for thinking you were sexually abused and might need some help, it was certainly not my intention to make you look like a liar or anything else like that.

Despite your unkind manner toward me I have only ever wanted the best for you. However you have done nothing but cause trouble and pain for me.
Please respect MY boundaries and remember that kindness costs nothing. I am blessed that everyone else on this forum treats me with respect, would you please do the same thing? Thank you
