Talking through trauma and PTSD

Running

Running

"Behind every strong person is a story that gave them no choice"

My life is all about a lack of choice.

I'm alive because death would've outed him, it would have sealed his fate in prison.

TW: cultic, rape, trafficking, torture

I'm the daughter of a Satanist...

One trained to breed...

One pregnant at 6 years old...

One prostituted to whoever could afford her...

The girl her dad didn't want...

One men hired to have fun with...

One men experimented with...

One who was tortured for speaking up...

One trained for the sole purpose to please her buyer...

Regardless of age...

Still though...

One who never stayed silent...

One who broke free... twice...

One who rose up...

One who seeks to prove them wrong...

One who has been running for 15 years...

One who just needs to feel heard...

One who went through hell and survived...

That this Phoenix can rise...

She will not be burned...

She's proven that...

I have proven that...

I'm 35 and 90% of those I've been in prolonged abusive situations insufficient evidence for prosecution

A system that protects the abuser more than the survivor

And yet I still try

I don't try for me, I try for the ones after me, the ones like me, that they will see their justice

But for now I run...

From a dad that wants me silenced...

From the nightmares that plague my sleep...

From the memories that invade my mind...

From the choices made for me...

Didn't expect that to come out as poetic as it did

@avant-garde I want to say the F word, because F***! That poem is so powerful. Ironically I posted something along the lines of your poem on social media myself a few days back -

@avant-garde this warms me to hear 😊

I hope your week is smoother sailing hun; even though the subject matter was heavy, I have really enjoyed connecting with you this weekend 💜

And you too @ENKELI always 😉

May your sleep be restful and your dreams full of whimsy 😋💜

Re: Running

@avant-garde I love your bracelet and go you for working with memory wire! It always used to frustrate me! I love the little butterfly too.

I so wish I could ship all my beads and findings to you! I have heaps of Swarovski crystal bicones and rondelles that are gathering dust in their tubs in the shed. I have moments of doing a couple of pieces and then I pack everything up and forget about it for another couple of years these days. There was a time when I would spend hours making bracelets, necklaces and anklets.

I have a tackle box full of tiger tail in different gauges and colours, as well as monofilament and memory wire. I don't want to just donate it to the op shop, I'd rather give it to someone who loves jewellery making, like you.
Maybe I could send it to Sane headquarters and get them to onforward it lol! (joking)

@ENKELI

I love the versatility and durability of memory wire. Elastic is bleh and I don't see the point, I have and use tigertail but it's a matter of length. Memory wire fits to the person and it doesn't matter how big or small your wrist is, it'll fit you.

Re: Running

I'm scared you know, scared of what daylight brings, scared of what I don't know about her, this new psychologist... she's experienced I know that much... 16 years working with sexual abuse survivors, but I'm scared so dreadfully scared that she won't understand me that she'll deny me EMDR but I have distinct memories, so many distinct and horrifying memories that they haunt my days and nights...

I had to you know... I had to describe so many of them to police and redress and they burn in my memory

TW: ritual and sexual abuse

Content/trigger warning
I stood between my best friend and my dad and said take me
I sacrificed my child
I experienced torture when I defied them
I was used in so so many rituals
My baptism was a desecration
My faith was used for their pleasure

Teachers, pastors, every authority figure or person with mandatory reporting... they could've helped... but they didn't...

I remember details because they're details that are impossible to forget...

Re: Running

Here with you @avant-garde, hearing how hard it is to relive these events when you start with a new support. Is today a first session with a new psychologist?

If so I'm hoping it all goes okay, though I know first sessions are always hard.
