Coin Collectors' Corner

Coin Collectors' Corner

Hey Everyone!

I thought I'd open this space up to talk all things coins!

I've noticed that we have a few interested coin collectors.

@Mustang67 @Harmonium @Shaz51 @Snowie Feel free to tag anyone.

I'm a bit gutted that I missed out on the Bluey coin collection. I was waiting eagerly for it 😞

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

Hahaha @Mustang67 Yep!

They will say "If you need money, just get it from the machine - hole in the wall"... that's what a kid said to me once....

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

@tyme I reckon that a lot of kids would think that you just go to the hole in the and withdraw what you want. My niece's certainly did when they were young.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

hahaha.... but then again, we are moving towards not even having these holes in the wall because we won't need cash!!!

What a dilemma!!!! @Mustang67

Here are my latest purchases from the new releases. I wasn't going to keep buying collectors coins, but I already have started a collection including these types of coins, so I had to keep the collection going.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

While researching coins like I often do, I found an article regarding the $1coins that are specially produced for the yearly ANDA (Australasian Numismatic Dealers Association) Money Expo held in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne & Perth.

They do one for each state with a Privy Mark on the coins. What caught my attention was they only produce between 3,000 and 5,000 of these coins. Which puts them all in the very low mintage and rare or scarce category. I managed to do a lot of searching to get these at the cheapest price I could. The maximin I paid was $30. I am missing one from 2019 but the cheapest I could find it was $90.00 and I am not willing to pay that for a $1 coin, even if it is a low mintage. I have found a couple of them overseas, so I am waiting on the companies to get back to me with their shipping costs etc.

This will be a long post as there are 4 year's worth. Lol

2019 $1 ANDA MOR Waratah Privy Mark Sydney Coin in Card

2022 $! ANDA MOR Weedy Seadragon Privy Mark Melbourne Coin in Card

Being such a low mintage, they should increase in value over the years.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

I just thought that I would let you know of some new coin releases coming up from the Royal Australian Mint. As yet they are not showing images of the new coins, but when they do, I will upload them.

In 2026, Australia marks 125 years of the Commonwealth of Australia. The Commonwealth came into being on 1 January 1901, with the union of six previously self-governing colonies: New South Wales, Tasmania, Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and Queensland.

The Collection

To commemorate the 125th anniversary of Federation, the Royal Australian Mint presents these special uncirculated coins.

Each colony that became a state of Australia in 1901 is commemorated on a rarely seen 25-cent coin, which features the state’s distinctive faunal and floral emblems. The New South Wales and South Australia coins also include emblems of the Australian Capital Territory and Northern Territory respectively; these territories, formed in 1911, were part of the states at the time of Federation. The seventh coin in the collection is a one-dollar coin representing the Commonwealth of Australia.

These coins are available individually or as a complete collection. They would make a splendid collectible or gift for any resident or visitor of the chosen state.

125 Years of Federation coins will be available:
