Coin Collectors' Corner

Coin Collectors' Corner

Hey Everyone!

I thought I'd open this space up to talk all things coins!

I've noticed that we have a few interested coin collectors.

@Mustang67 @Harmonium @Shaz51 @Snowie Feel free to tag anyone.

I'm a bit gutted that I missed out on the Bluey coin collection. I was waiting eagerly for it 😞

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

thanks @Mustang67 just thought of all round .50c pieces had like 50 years ago

and the bicentennial, etc

we used to find pennies and ha'pennies lying around.

I used a florin as .20c and went for joyflight in small plane like a Cessna when 8 or 9maybe mum was okay with it lol

we'd have christmas dinner at mum's aunties sometimes. she would bake sixpences into pudding. which, if you got it, got swapped for .05c think. couldnt bake them, sixpence was more pure we were told.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

@TAB my partner's dad use to have a big jar that he was filling up with the round 50c pieces. And my partner said that he and his brother used to steal coins out of the jar and spend them. Lol

His mum still has the jar and it she must still have some, as she sent me one so I could add it to my 50c folder.

I have started looking at coin auctions and they seem to sell a heap on there.

I do vaguely remember about people adding coins to puddings at Christmas time. I remember mum telling me that she cracked a tooth when she bit the coin. You can still purchase the coins. I just found these on Downies Collectables. Mind you they costs $59.95. So not cheap.

My cousin who used to collect coins, died 23 years ago, and my mum said that there was a big bag of coins amongst his possessions. But since hordes everything, she has no idea where they are. I suppose I will find them, once my mum passes and I have to wonderful job of trying to empty her house which is full of things she hasn't used in over 10 years. Not looking forward to that. But there could be some hidden treasures in there.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

@Mustang67 so much has happened re middle son. i dont know where to begin. tbh it is all exhausting .... lets just say that he is being looked after by professionals who care about him. it seems to be one issue after another. atm i want his meds to be reviewed as the current meds he is on has bad side effects and is an older drug where there are new ones just out this year. this is the thing though he doesnt want to change he if vehement about it. idk what to do tbh.

Oh @Bunniekins it must be so hard for you. Can he not see the side effects from his medication. Hopefully the professionals will do a review of his medication. Can you talk to them about it?

I really feel for you.
