Coin Collectors' Corner

Coin Collectors' Corner

Hey Everyone!

I thought I'd open this space up to talk all things coins!

I've noticed that we have a few interested coin collectors.

@Mustang67 @Harmonium @Shaz51 @Snowie Feel free to tag anyone.

I'm a bit gutted that I missed out on the Bluey coin collection. I was waiting eagerly for it 😞

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

Good morning all coin collectors.

I made sure that I was awake by 8.30am, so I could order the new 2025 $1 Toy Story Postal Numismatic Cover (PNC). This is to celebrates 30 years of Toy Story. See pictures below.

This Postal Numismatic Cover is highly collectable, featuring a pictorial envelope with a 2025 uncirculated AlBr $1.00 Tuvalu Coin.

In 2025, Toy Story, the ground breaking Pixar film that introduced audiences to Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and a world where toys come to life, celebrates its 30th anniversary. Released in 1995, it was the first feature-length film entirely created with CGI, revolutionising animation and storytelling. Its emotional depth, humour and heart warming message about friendship captivated audiences of all ages. Over the years, it's become a cherished classic, spawning sequels and merchandise and inspiring generations. Three decades later, Toy Story still shines.

I will include the link in case anyone is interested.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

@Harmonium I found The Language of Flowers Collector Case on an Australian website at a price that I was willing to pay and I was so excited. When it arrived, I was disappointed, as I thought the Companion Book in English came with the case. I should have read the description better.

So my coins are nicely tucked away in the collector's case.

I have been looking online for the highly informative and beautifully illustrated 100-page companion book, written by renowned British gardening expert Juliet Roberts, but so far I haven't had any luck.

The book takes an entertaining look at the meanings, mythology, magic, botany and uses of the seven well-known plants on which the coins are based and provides a fascinating background to the series. It sounds like it would be an interesting read.

@GezzaP since you like your gardening I thought I would show you the set of flower coins that I have. They are called The Language of Flowers Series.

2021 €10 Euro The Language of Flowers - The Rose -Silver Proof Coin

2022 €10 Euro The Language of Flowers - The Dandelion -Silver Proof Coin

2022 €10 Euro The Language of Flowers - The Marigold -Silver Proof Coin

2023 €10 Euro The Language of Flowers - The Chamomile - Silver Proof Coin

2023 €10 Euro The Language of Flowers - The Forget-Me-Not - Silver Proof Coin

2024 €10 Euro The Language of Flowers - The Violet - Silver Proof Coin

2024 €10 Euro The Language of Flowers - The Peony -Silver Proof Coin

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

Nice coins @Mustang67 . I’m pleased because I slept for 7 1/2 hours the best in weeks. Back and neck don’t hurt either today.

I have done my physio exercises and my Spanish lessons.

Picking up some plants this afternoon hope the rain is not too heavy as I hate driving in heavy rain.

Reading another gardening magazine since it’s raining here.

Walked around the garden. Some seeds I planted last week have germinated already.

I hope you are having a good day.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

@GezzaP I am glad that you are sleeping well lately. You must be doing something right, so keep up the good work.

You are so good with your physio exercises. I went to my physio about three weeks ago, as my back was so stiff. I also told her that my knees have been playing up ever since I had a car accident in December. They hit the area under the steering wheel. I have had knee issues for year and years (from doing too much ten pin bowling), but they had settled down. But since the accident, I can't do a lot without them starting to ache. So I told the physio. At the end of the session, she showed me some exercises to do for my knees and she made me do them in front of her, so she made sure I was doing them properly. Well OMG, after my appointment every time I had to bend my knees, I was in pain. And it was making me very frustrated. It took 3 days before my knees stopped aching. The physio sent me exercises to my phone for my back and knees, but after the pain I was in, after doing only a couple of movements, I wasn't game to do them again. I think I am just going to wait until the new physio that I want to start using, opens their clinic. They have special equipment that targets the exact location that needs to be strengthened.

Plus I can't get motivated to do much at the moment. My head is not in the right place.

Enjoy the rest of your day in the garden and reading your gardening magazine 🌻

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

Well done finding your lost coin @Chasingsunsets ! 😁

I've never seen one like that shark one - with colour! Very pretty.

I recognise a number of the $1 and 50c - but not all.

This is where i wish the forum had a higher photo size limit to upload better resolutions so I could see them all clearly lol. 😋

I recognise a few of the foreign coins - like the kiwi and the Fijian butterfly (at least i think its Fijian from recall), but cant see most clearly enough to see their pics.

Im curious about the non-circular one with the varying edges!! Pretty cool 😁

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

That's so cool @Chasingsunsets ! My coins are all dumped in a bag so I'm a bit ashamed of mine when I look at your collection lol

One thing I want to do is go to the Mint in Canberra again and get some more coins

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

@tyme does the Mint post?

I haven't visited it, but I've heard they do an interesting tour.

Re: Coin Collectors' Corner

Um... if you can order coins online, I guess they do because all the coins come from there @AlwaysMyself

Yes, the tour is one AWESOME tour! I thought it would be boring, but I stayed at the mint for a few hours. I think I went a few months ago.. I can't even remember how long ago I went. Actually, maybe it was January this year.

The kids loved it too.
