Is there anybody out there (wanna lend me a hand)

@tyme I've seriously lost it tonight. It's raining and lightning, HRH (furbaby) has taken off and will probably drop his bundle and mummy will be enjoying all of the olympic telecast tonight waiting to catch and medicate him. The only thing I missed last night was Ariarne Titmus' epic effort. The very brief micronap. But you know you're really past it when you are giggling about your very dear friends feral garage door. We both think someone cast a spell on us. Saturday afternoon her roller door decided to open and close non stop. Only it didn't close completely. About 15cm from the ground. Lucky she had the car out. The remote wouldn't work, the company wouldn't return her call and we agreed it was the motor and it would just have to burn itself out. Only problem was the noise. And it was getting late. Update today it did indeed shut down and is currently half open. Tomorrow she'll ring the company. You know you're scraping the bottom of the barrel when a roller door makes you laugh hysterically. Life has been and still is a bit intense and stressful and my sense of humour can be a bit juvenile at times.

My apologies, but I'm REALLY LAUGHING...

I had sort of the same issue with my garage door about 2 weeks ago! I opened it and it wouldn't close. Or closed only half way. I did this over and over again. Up, down, up, down, up, down. It was after 9pm and it was still going up and down. Then the garage light blew so I was in the dark with a roller door going up and down. It still wouldn't close! In the end, I just yanked it shut but of course it meant it wouldn't lock.

Got the technician in in the morning... had to replace the whole thing... $1k later, I have a new system...

LOL. If you're laughing, take it and just run with it.

Wow I can feel that you are going through a tough patch. Glad to hear you have a supportive MH professional by your side....and having pets that mirror what you are going through must be mindblowing. Does it make you reflect on how you are feeling when you see how they are behaving? Coaching your cats to meditate prrrfectly could be a fun practice for you both!

Now I do have to ask....what olympic sports has the cat qualified for?

@Radarears i really appreciate the conversation and the mutual understanding that comes through this thread. Having a place to be real and share the large and small "miseries" and "conundrums" is HUGE!

@OM108 without a doubt BOXING!! At 2am on my bed. Fencing (girl), 100 metre running (boy) and cross country (boy). It is very challenging when my moods upset my babies. It is a good EWS though and I can recognise that I'm going off in a ditch. It's also good when I pull my head in and they respond. Of course my precious prince has so many issues of his own that he keeps me from disappearing into my naval. Yes life throws lots of curve balls for us all. I feel that I'm constantly having to drop everything and deal with the latest drama. I've been given the go ahead to use another venue of my club for my rehab and recreation. I begin on Friday. Very anxious and nervous but looking forward to getting back in the saddle. It's for as long as needed and I can switch back when I'm feeling more stable and able to cope. It will be challenging trying to establish a new routine and an unfamiliar environment. Bit like starting at a new school. Motivation and incentive are not in my vocab atm. Whether it's the new medication, still unwell physically and mh or combo I'm just so fatigued. I'll just live vicariously by watching the athletes.

@tyme what made it funny was my friend telling me she and her car detailer were standing watching it. And the noise!!!!

It did quit. Then she discovered she had rung the wrong company. She found the right one, the motor has gone and yep a large chunk of change will follow.

We agreed that someone put a spell on it.

@Tilz That's when I'm wearing my magic boots. Like the littlies at the shops and surrounds I have magic boots that I wear. I'll be quaking in them but I know they're tough and can cover all terrain. Just like Dorothy's special shoes in the Wizard of Oz. But I'm feeling more like the cowardly lion tonight. Storms here and under the doona for now.

@tyme is life treating me well? Ummmm. I'll have to reflect on that and get back to you.

It is what it is.

However I'm finding more like minded people who get me. It helps offset those who don't, judge me and find me wanting.

I had a calm before the storm time. Then it was on again for young and old.

Major challenges ahead regarding the treatment of my mental health issues by the public system that has left me traumatised and very very sick. I've been waitlisted for advocacy and it will feel a bit like a David and Goliath event.

The EMDR keeps getting delayed because of all the dramas but I'll be "match fit" soon I hope. I'm becoming a seasoned campaigner but both my psychologist and I are struggling to "refine the search".😅🤣😂
