Soul sister

Soul sister

@Former-Member

Morning appointment with psych was really tough. She stopped desensitization after about ten minutes because I was too distressed Did have a minor breakthrough - we both realised that I can relax more when listening to relaxation music without commentary or words - haven't been able to relax like that before - nearly fell asleep!

Did feel sick and had a massive headache for the rest of the day.

Saw GPin the afternoon and as usual came out more positive and with a bit of life in me - she's an absolute angel.

Hoping for you it is nothing serious. Easy for me to say don't stress until you find out - know that is difficult, know I would think the worst even if my head said there was nothing to worry about. xxx

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

Morning (sorry afternoon) little sis

Appointment was good - got a christmas present from GP - told you she was amazing. Not a box of chocolates or any other generic 'let's give a gift to everyone present' - a really beautiful necklace that is so ME. Really don't have words for how special it made me feel and how much she 'gets me'. I wish every one of you guys here had someone as wonderful as her in their lives. Feel sooooo lucky to have found her and made such a strong connection.

A shower is probably a good idea before your visit - don't want to be stinky LOL.

Are you taking Kira with you?

It's a beautiful day down here - bit hot at the moment totake Toby to the beach somight start getting cleaned up a bit for Christmas day and take hime down later today.

Hope you enjoy your time with your parents xx

PS have you got all your test results back yet?

Have a great day - talk later

Your big sis (and cousin Toby says woof to Kira)

Afternoon big sis @Zoe7

I'm so happy to hear that you have such a caring and considerate Dr

I didn't end going down to my parents, I wanted to go to the local shopping centre to get some bits and pieces for Christmas and plus I am going down south every day until boxing day and there is going to be lots of traffic on the roads.

I did get my test results, all my results were normal. All great news there

And I have just came home from walking Kira- he was only a quick one (25mins) . We will probably go for another walk after din dins. What are you doing for din dins?

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

Hey big sis @Former-Member my day just got brighter

Glad to hear your results were allgood - so were mine! What a surprise!!! Just us that's not normal hey

I had a prok fillet steak with rice and vegies - very healthy - and ate it all - WOW.

I have been on the forum now for 5 straight hours. Might need a little break myself soon. The big bash is about to start though and the Hobart Hurricanes are playing so may stick around for a few more hours.

Having a really indepth conversation with BlueBay over on complex ptsd thread. Hits on some of the things I was talking about with you a few nights ago. Come over and check it out - if you feel safe to do so - will fill in a lot about me for you that we didn't really get to the other night.

My christmas present to you is in the presents for forum members thread - especially applies to you my little sis

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

Hi sis @Zoe7

You have been on the forum for a while then, and sit and relax and watch some TV (that sounds like a plan).

I am feeling much better since being able to talk with you sis, you are such a lovely person

I am glad your test results came back all okay too.

I'll just out the thread complex PTSD and glad you are able to talk about it- do you feel that talking about it in a safe environment is lifting your shame.

I'll have to think what gift I want to give you for Christams and that is a gift for adventure.

I think you are so brave to talk so openly about your feelings, I think you will do amzing this year.

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

I feel exactly the same about you @Former-Member. If it hadn't been for your support the other night I don't think I would be so open now. I know everyone on here is absolutely wonderful but I seem to feel so much more connected to you - don't know whether it's similarities or our late night (early morning) talks - and frankly I don't care - it just is My day always seems so much brighter when you check in!

I think it's going to take a bit longer for that shame to be lifted - what I know and how I still feel are certainly in constant conflict. Isn't that the lovely thing about the forum - you can share without feeling judged (or even worse sometimes - someone feeling sorry for you!) You can just work through your shit in a safe environment with people that have great insights, compassion and similar experiences to help each other work through.

I remember you talking about your lack of confidence the other night - know exactly what you mean. Here there are no expectations and no-one looking over your shoulder (well not really - HI MODS ). I wish we both had the same confidence outside of the forum to deal with our shit and get on with life - but that is not the case (not yet anyway)- so let's be here for each other, helping each other and see where life can take us.

Thanks for my christmas present - one more for you - let's be adventurous together!

Kisses to Kira xx

Always here for my lil sis

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

Hi little sis @Former-Member

I think I might try and have an earlier night tonight so may not be on later.

Have removed most of my earlier post on the other thread - feel a bit like it got out of control in the moment and was too much (for me and especially others!). Know I didn't start it but still feel responsible!

I'm ok - just a bit flat

May talk later if still up,otherwise catch up tomorrow

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

Ditto to you @Zoe7

My day is much brighter when I have interacted with you too. I don't why I feel so connected to you, but it is what is- we just seem to get on really well, and I think that is awesome.

Your plan sounds great, I hope, I can support & help you in 2017. Lets take the adventure together and see how far we can go.

Always here for you too sis

Hi again sis @Zoe7

Thanks for letting me know- I will be on and off over the next day or so but I will check in later to see how you are just in case you check back in

There is no need to apologize for the other thread (PTSD) I think you opening up here was a good thing and btw you didn't go into a lot detail but it did help me understand you more- I am sorry for what happen to you.You don't need to feel responsible because you did nothing wrong posting on the other thread (PTSD).

I am hoping you feeling a bit brighter.
