@Former-Member

Morning appointment with psych was really tough. She stopped desensitization after about ten minutes because I was too distressed Did have a minor breakthrough - we both realised that I can relax more when listening to relaxation music without commentary or words - haven't been able to relax like that before - nearly fell asleep!

Did feel sick and had a massive headache for the rest of the day.

Saw GPin the afternoon and as usual came out more positive and with a bit of life in me - she's an absolute angel.

Hoping for you it is nothing serious. Easy for me to say don't stress until you find out - know that is difficult, know I would think the worst even if my head said there was nothing to worry about. xxx

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

@Former-Member

I haven't even made the bed Need to do that first!

There is another doctor that GP was going to link me up with while she was away but she didn't - I might call her tomorrow and maybe even make that call to psych (really didn't want to do that- she'll most likely want to come in from holidays to see me).

I didn't get the candles - after I got the phone I was pretty tired and just wanted to come home.

Tomorrow I'll plan to get the candles - there'sa couple of shops in the city that I go to a lot that have really nice candles.

I am getting more comfortable with the regular people I see at the beach so that is probably my best option at the moment re talking to people.

Let's just chat about nothing at all for a little while - what else other than quad bikes and horse riding are you going to do in Hawaii?

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

@Former-Member Do you have friends living in Hawaii? Sounds like a great way to spend a couple of weeks - VERY JEALOUS

Will you be spending much time with your brother or doing a lot of things on your own?

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

@Former-Member That's cool - are you going to spend a lot of time with them? I hope you are.

I am going to have to find something to do with my time while you are away- not sure what yet - have to think about that a bit more

What did you have for dinner with your friends?

Don't you have you appointment this Friday? Have you thought any more about what you are going to talk about?

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

I'm just here watching Kira sleep atm

I am doing really nothing exciting

I might go make a cup of tea soon.

Have u had any blood tests recently?

In response to: Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

@Former-Member So Kira isn't playing with the pillows tonight You've worn her out! How are her eyes now?

Had blood tests two weeks before christmas - all pretty good - vit d was low but that was to be expected because I hadn't been outside much in the months before. Taking supplements for that atm.

Go and make that cup of tea and I'll make the bed.

Back in a few minutes if you're still up for it

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

I don't know why but I didn't see your message but I have now

I will probably spend a bit of time with my bro in Hawaii

For dinner - we had a chicken caeser salad and for starters cheesy garlic bread and lemon lime bitters

Yes I have appointment Friday but its very late in the day- which is good for me. I will think tomorrow what to say but I will probably just write down a few pointers or do some research on my treatment plan. I think I need another few weeks in hospital maybe in May- not sure where I will go either Sydney or Cairns

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

@Former-Member That sounds like a nice meal and pretty healthy too!

That sounds like a good plan - writing things down helps to get them sorted in your own mind also.

Where would you rather go - Sydney or Cairns. I know you have been to the Sydney clininc and it really helped you but have you been to the one in Cairns before? What will you do with Kira while you are away?

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

@Zoe7

Yes Kira is worn out- no pillow throwing tonight

I've just had a herbal tea and I made Kira some porridge (she had sachets of uncle tobys that will keep her going now until mid morning)

Btw I am glad you have made connections down at the beach

Have you though more about seeing an exercise physiologist- you claim it through private health fund or medicare-enhanced primary health care. I have found the EP session has helped me the most with my anxiety and confidence. It might help with your knee too.
