Morning appointment with psych was really tough. She stopped desensitization after about ten minutes because I was too distressed Did have a minor breakthrough - we both realised that I can relax more when listening to relaxation music without commentary or words - haven't been able to relax like that before - nearly fell asleep!

Did feel sick and had a massive headache for the rest of the day.

Saw GPin the afternoon and as usual came out more positive and with a bit of life in me - she's an absolute angel.

Hoping for you it is nothing serious. Easy for me to say don't stress until you find out - know that is difficult, know I would think the worst even if my head said there was nothing to worry about. xxx

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

There is a special magic when people can just click ... lucky ladies

There was a mental health/illness Tshirt involved on my Christmas Eve .. it was provocative and angry, tho possibly true ..but didnt have the light hearted ness of that thread.

It was givent to me by a choir member ..who was not present but is quite a mh activist .. I accepted it as I usually accept what comes my way .. but I had it for 2 years and never wore it .. it was 2nd hand .. and was more effective in teaching others the message .. by me showing it to 2 choir women and asking them if they would wear it .. they both said "no".

but one of them .. had been making jokes about various people being 'off their meds'>>> and it starting to give me the pip .. once .. twice .. maybe .. but more than that .. its a bigotry .. really

For me the great learning .. as a charity child .. is learning to say ,, no thank you .. more often .. it was given with good will .. and now is doing the rounds . but I did not have to wear it. I believe in recycling big time.

It said

I am on medication because people like you have bullied me .. or similar ??

I need a more nuanced slogan one and less creating of blame in the random other .. who might read it.

Nitey nite cuzzes

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

You will definitely have to check out the other thread - will make you laugh!!

I love doing puzzles too but find I usually get them done too quickly and when I can't get something out I keep going until I do - usually no matter how long it takes (doesn't happen often though) - becomes a bit obsessive!!!!

My goals should also be around healing, fitness and fun - the relationships one may be a little harder for me to achieve - sure you understand that!

Gp isn't putting any time limits on my health - probably because it really is an unknown. until the last few days (when I completely over did it) I was seeing some small signs of improvement. being able to go to the beach so many days in a row and walk was definitely positive. A few weeks ago one trip per week would have been all I could have managed.

Feb 2018 - it's a plan. You'll actually be in the same state - that is sooo cool! I'm locking it in - can't back out now!!!!!!!!!

How about for our first goal the we write a list (yes a list) of all the things we would like to achieve this year - both short term and long term - and some of the steps we will need to take to reach each goal.

I want to get well physically and be strong enough to get the kayak out for a start.

Mentally (even though I know this is more a long term goal) I want to be able to think about all the sh*t without feeling sick everytime (that's a really big one though).

My third one is I want to finish writing my book and paint more.

@Appleblossom Hi cuz. Yep pretty magic - happiest and most supportive 'relationship' I have in my life - so grateful Find it hard sometimes to accept how special our connection is but so lucky. @Former-Member

The forum has been amazing all round (and this connection makes it just that extra bit special).

I think that t-shirt sounds completely insulting. The idea of blaming anyone and openly wearing it is out of line. I actually hate those kind of t-shirts. They are only funny when people can laugh with you not at you - I would have disposed of it even earlier.

Love hearing from you - so insightful, so strong, so loved

Nite cuz

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

Hi again @Zoe7

I have just had a bit of read through the other thread.

My goals are broad at this stage but I am not talking about relationship relationship stuff- it might be having a better relationship with yourself, family, friends etc. I am single too and I have no intention of ever wanting to get married. I sometimes think it would be nice to have a boyfriend but I've had too much tramua too- I am happy with me and Kira and I am sick of being on my own though at times- It would be lovely to have someone in my life though and share things with.

I myself have just struggled with my depression but also have some physical ailments too and when my depression at its worse I couldn't walk or do anything for more then 5 to 10mins.

I think I have my list sorted - I ill just have to write up some steps for each goal and some might be repeated each especially the fitness goals because this will be ongong through the year.

I have major trust issues and anxiety issues that I would like to work on etc. I am just thinking out loud atm- I am not sure if that makes sense. I like to see the end picture and then putting the pieces together and that will be goals to get to the end of 2017.

Ok - got it! sis @Former-Member

How did you cope with the physical problems and the depression and come out the other end? I know it can happen but don't feel like it's going to be a quick fix - suggestions!
