@Former-Member

Morning appointment with psych was really tough. She stopped desensitization after about ten minutes because I was too distressed Did have a minor breakthrough - we both realised that I can relax more when listening to relaxation music without commentary or words - haven't been able to relax like that before - nearly fell asleep!

Did feel sick and had a massive headache for the rest of the day.

Saw GPin the afternoon and as usual came out more positive and with a bit of life in me - she's an absolute angel.

Hoping for you it is nothing serious. Easy for me to say don't stress until you find out - know that is difficult, know I would think the worst even if my head said there was nothing to worry about. xxx

All of it made me cry sis. Just being thought about and loved!

At least someone in your family has taste (your MUM)!!!!

Do you follow AFL and soccer also?

I really hope you don't get your second wind and get some sleep tonight - not that I don't want you tochat but thinking of your long term health (and sleep study).

No he didn't see us and that was a relief - too busy with some other girl! Really wanted to warn her but didn't want to go anywhere near him.

Think the parkis beautiful - would love to visit one day - maybe next winter - that trip is looking more and more appealing.

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

That is lovely she thought of you @Zoe7 . Are you and your sister close?

Thanks for understanding so much and listening to me- I really appreciate it. What time is your appointment tomorrow- do you see also a psychiatrist? You have been good company and I enjoyed talking to you.

Yes 2017 is a great year for both of us. When will we put our goal up for the week?

I am going to Brissie to see the fireworks and probably going to the movies before the fireworks start. I have never been up to Brisbane for New Years Eve. I am a little because of all the violence that seems to happen around alcohol. I have never been into the night club scene.

Your road trip sounds fun, my brother went across on the boat last year from Melb to Tassie. Do you get seasickness- have you been across before? I do get seasickness- my first time this happen was when I was around 6 years old, and me and parents and brother did a cruise around the South Pacific Islands.

We are going to turn things around this year sis @Zoe7 .

@Appleblossom I'm with zoe- bugger the distant cousin- I think just cousins

@Zoe7 sis

Oh stop it- you will end up making me cry.

I don't follow it as much as the other codes. Do you have a fav team, I know Brisbane Lions (AFL) what about for soccer? I do sometimes listen.

My sleep study is a few weeks away now 13th Jan but I will try not to push it- I am hoping to be asleep by 1am- that will be a good night for me.

The park is lovely during winter, I am looking forward to my next shift down there.

What did you have for din dins? Do you have anything planned for New Years Eve?

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

We're not really close - for alot of reasons - but do some things together - mainly involving our dogs - think they have brought us a bit closer and we see each other more. We only live 5 minutes from each other (in the same suburb).

I actually look forward everyday to hearing from you. Is the highlight of my day!

My appointment is at 4pm. So should be home around 5:30pm Am not seeing a psychiatrist yet - GP tried really hard for over a month - just no-one available. Booked in for May (just in case) and on wait list elsewhere.

I'm thinking we put our goal up each Sunday night then have a week to organise if need to - starting this week on new year's day - what do you think?

I used to go out a lot but now can't handle the crowds or noise or lights. I'm staying home with my babies - rather be on my own than out and about. Used to be a great night on the waterfront many, mnay years ago but also started to get too violent.

Who are you going to Brisbane with? Hope not by yourself!

Have been on the boat a few times. Generally a smooth trip - one time was really rough and felt a bit sick - just went to bed so as not to feel it too bad.

I think we are going to have a good year too - might not happen straight away but that's ok - one stepat a time

OMG you do listen - knew that though - just sometimes your memory doesn't keep up - like me. I don't follow a local soccer team - mad Liverpool supporter - all my life - ever since I can remember!!!

Had toast for din dins - yes I'm a good girl - wasn't feeling very hungry but ate anyway. What did you and Kira have?

I dont follow sports .. just played it a little .. taught son to kick a footie .. cos I am an Aussie after all .. and so is he .. I will watch tennis with my son .. his chosen passive sport .. tho he did play for a while .. playing tennis is not good for pianists .. re hand and arm injuries ..

I loved the Hawkesbury walks and the Taronga Zoo walks .. with water views .. the sort of thing that can stay with you and nurture you .. but Melbourne is more liveable .. nah nah nenah nah

blowing out now .. kiss kiss kiss

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

I look forward to conversing with you everyday too, you certainly brightens my day

Your appointment is in the afternoon- what will you do before your appointment. I have my mum coming up tomorrow for a few days, it will be lovely to spend some time with her- she is very special to me and I would do anything for her.

We could start a big earlier for our goals so we have something up prior to the first Jan- we could do this week for Friday, and have just over a week to complete- we could also help each other with feedback on possible goals too- if you think that might help us grow a bit more because we might see something that we miss in ourselves- or even just to twit our goals too. Will we put our goal up for the week on Sunday and then we have until the Saturday to complete the said goal.

I thought the Bass Strait was rough?, I would love to do the trip across.

On Saturday night I am going with some friends up to Brissie unless we change our minds and go into Surfers but I would like to go to Brissie this year. I guess I have always followes Man United.

I was joking about the listening- my memory not the best or has sharp as it used to be- its probably sleep related I think because when I have slept better, I am much sharper.

You should be eating a bit more then toast otherwise you will struggle to get well- it will not help you feel better. I had a seafood and beef pizza- I would have shared it with you sis.

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

I'm on a mission to design a logo for our new t-shirts we've been discussing on just checking in thread. It's been so funny. You should read it - amke you laugh so much! So I think I'll do that in the morning and do the shopping I need to do before I go to appointment in the afternoon.

Sounds like a good idea to have something up Friday this week. Helping each other with feedback etc. is a great idea - try to monitor and motivate each other. I'm more likely to do stuff with your support and suggestions than anyone else (even GP).

So glad you are going to get some quality time with your Mum. Don't feel like you have to chat for a few days while she is there - just enjoy the time together - I'll miss you but I'll cope

I had a feeling that you were going to say Man United - our relationship just ended (Not really!!!)

I did have chicken on the toast and I don't eat much seafood so couldn't share the pizza - no shell fish at all! Will do a shop tomorrow and get some more substantial food. Bit hard to swollow at the moment with my sore throat though - maybe make some soup tomorrow.

You should do the trip across - there are some amazing walks and beaches in Tassie. Feb and March are the best times - much warmer for you to cope with.

What should our first goal be?

Re: Supporting a friend with terminal illness

I am glad to hear you been having fun on the other thread- I'll have to check it out.

I think it will be good to help us stay motivated with the goals and supporting each other along the way. My goals will be around my goals that I have set for the year and some might be added in has I start to develop and grow during the year- my focus on healing, fitness, relationships and fun!

Its okay I can still chat while my mum is here, she generally goes to bed before me and enjoys doing puzzles and other things too. I will be on at least every night except probably Sat night.

I hope you start to feel better soon- and did your GP gave any indication for how long it will take you to recovery?

I have heard the weather is really good in Feb, I might try to come down Feb 2018 for a few weeks. It sounds like a good plan to me.

I think my goal will be targeted around setting myself up for success for the year ahead and not sure how to word my goal but it will be around a fitness goal and therapy goal because I see my dr next Friday.
