Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Patience is a virtue that expired in me a looooong time ago, now I am just mr grumpy. Darling even got me a mr grumpy night shirt recently. (Meant it to be sweet and funny and could not understand why it fell flat)

Just lost my reply post to you ... understand now ... I think I would find appointment changing very frustrating.

Wanted to let you know that the simple things you have shared, a magazine with cuppa, photos of birds and flowers etc. are self care things we can all do and if you enjoy being on the forums, that is self care too.

@Faith-and-Hope

You didn't spoil a thing, first I lost my post to Shaz and then my sister rang, she was a bit down and needed a shoulder

I know at times I have felt helpless too ...

So my darling had a pdoc app this ave, he was actually booked out but squeezed her in between scheduled appointments. The result is she will be be going back in to hospital in the next week or 2 for ECT therapy.

Don't want to go into specifics but for me the risks still outweigh the potential benifits. At the same time I feel really selfish thinking this as she existing at the moment, not living, and desperate to try anything, for this reason she has my full support, it is tearing me apart on both counts is all. Darling understands I am worried and was actually sweet to me on the drive home and expressed her appreciation of my support, dont often get that so it helped and made it worse at the same time.

One of our boys was promised a birthday party at the end of the month, now I have to trg explain to him why mummy probably wont be there. He already feels ripped off in life. Possibly can just have it early for him.

Add in university assesment and the fact that I am stuffing work around with rosters before I even start my new job we are having a swell time here.

Sorry, I know lots of people are doing it tough at the moment, I always seem to be whinging and over-sharing, have noone to talk to is all. Just when I think im good I feel like balling my eyes out again 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Whinge, rant, share all you like @Determined. It's all part of self care. And much cheaper than therapy for yourself.

There are some challenging times ahead for you and you'll need all the strength you can muster to get through so "Lean on me when you're not strong ......."
