Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

hello @Shaz51

pleased to hear that your ear is getting there - bit of a pun there

medication cut backs always hard to do and takes many efforts .. important to praise any attempt as i know that you would

hope that the heart specialist check up is elimination good that she can get in next month also

have been down the track with heart specialists with husband and sister - all good now

i am supposed to be checked out because is my twin and strong history of heart disease in family .. have too much on my plate dont want to know about any other medical issues at this moment in time.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

hi everyone, hope everybody had a nice Easter ? and I don't know much about Anzac Day thou.. but I would know about it for sure with a little Google and good old info from some nice Aussie friends. just to update everyone here ..I'm currently on a short break , still waiting for my speaking test .. as I took IELTS exam today..woooohhhh soooo difficult coz there's time restrictions.. Thor is at home alone ..but this time I'm not too worried like before..he is taking his meds regularly although he is hinting of not continuing one of the three meds prescribe to him coz he thinks it makes him edgy and anxious all the time. he started a business with his friend and it makes him busy..but we all know it could also mean stress for him . so once in a while he gets snappy..but when he got over it..he would immediately apologize and make up for it by helping out with the house chores or cooking special meal. .he still has psychosis like someone hacking his cellphone , computer and dodo service .. he sometimes dream on something and think it's real..that convincing him it's not real is a challenge..as we say here when stuff like that happens " it's the illness " . . so far I tried him on gluten free , less sugar and lactose free diet ..so far so good, I notice there's less up and down emotions..I encourage him to be active in church..only problem was we attend 2 churches every Sunday. ...well break time almost up...wish me luck on my English test exam..it's my first step to my student visa ..and next step to a new career. 🙂

Lovely to hear from you @Maryjune, great to hear Thor is in treatment . Have found a website that may be of help to you, this is the link to the relationship page but they have other pages in relation to vitamins and the like.

Hope Thor's stomach has improved. Hope you as a carer are able to get some self care happening.

Take care and all the best with your exam.

Darcy
