Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

BIg hugs @Determined - definitely is hard to keep positive when you keep waiting for the ball to drop. When you are so use to being in such a zone, when things are positive and remain OK/good it is hard to believe it. Cherish the positivity for now and know that if anything does happen, your family on the forums are here for you xx

hello @Shaz51

just read the last part of your post about mr shaz with inherited depression. That is what they believe with me, i think the latest tag is genetic depression.

i tend to not focus on the labels these days, more on recognising how i am feeling and then pushing myself with walking, grounding or mindfulness.

Is mr shaz good at communicating?

Hey @Determined
I think all of us know how lost we can feel in our loved ones illness, the sacrifices we make, our dreams that have had to be changed...

Thank you @Former-Member @Anony18 @Faith-and-Hope @Rose96 @Spookytookims @Shaz51 for your kind words

I feel bad for 'whinging' all the time, especially as everyone has their own battles, it does help to be able to talk about it though. Have been watching all of your discussion on the email feed but lacked the motivation to log in and join in.

I have been trying so hard to focus on the positives at the moment, and there is a lot to be thankful for, at the same time though we are always on edge and I never know when the next tantrum is going to come. Finding it very draining always giving out and getting nothing in return. Sounds selfish when I say it like that but its how it is. Finding the physical and emotional rejection harder to bear than usual at the moment and extremely fatigued from the added stress 😞

As bad as that all sounds we have had some lovely family moments over the last week so trying hard to hang on to that while it lasts. ☺

We have tickets to a ball next week (as recognition of some volunteer work that I do) so I am hoping that we can enjoy a night out without the little people and being out in a social setting will not be too much for my darling. Looking forward to the night out though, we rarly do stuff like this.

Sorry I have not contributed to your discussions over the last week or 2 , I have been following though and thinking of you all. I really appreciate the friendships I have found here. If you dont here from me I have not run away, just sitting in my little corner sulking. I will do my best though to stay conected.
