Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Hey @Former-Member
It was good! A few little hiccups but over all a hood weekend. My partner doesn't sleep very well so we usually sleep in separate beds, but had to sleep in the same bed while away. So normally he would go into full blown manic mode when he's only had a few hours sleep, but he actually handled it really well. Didn't let it ruin our time away. I'm really proud of him for not losing control.
I hope you had a nice weekend and Mr Darcy is doing well 🙂

@Shaz51 my partner also has social anxiety. It can make things a bit difficult at times, but I know you'll be great support! Thinking of you.

Hi @Former-Member I just read your last post. I really hope that things have started to look for you. It is horrible feeling so lost. I hope you're getting the support you need. Sending positive vibes to you.

Going OK @Anony18
Still have concerns about Mr Darcy, his diagnosis and meds but feeling that I can cope with things a lot better now.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

@Former-Member - hopefully things with Mr Darcy will get sorted or your concerns will lessen. I am here struggling with where I stand with my partner. If you seen my recent post in the hot chocolate forum - really concern about how distant he has become and am not sure why. I have a theory from my paranoia, another from my instinct and one more from an experience in past. Not sure which theory is right. Kind of in this tough situation where I want to be mindful about his mental state but at same time I am driven to push him cause I seriously need talk to him.

Hi @Former-Member

Jury's out regarding the determined family at the moment. (Not feeling very determined at the moment)
Cant help feel that my darling is on the verge of another melt down and I am lacking the emotional capacity to deal with it all. (Currently in the 'over-it all' phase of the emotional cycle). Starting the new job is already a problem also with little to no information provided and training scheduled for the 1 day that I said I was not available (darling has her hospital appointment out of town and not happy for her to be driving herself), feel like quitting before I even start. One more failure to add to my long list.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Thanks @Former-Member It is tough and it is a choice I am making for now to stay with him. But who knows after we do have this big discussion. It depends on 1) which of my theories is right and 2) if he wants a last shot and willing to accept the terms I am putting on table given I cannot go through this ignorance again. And I don't think at all these terms are unreasonable because it essentially is - communicate and do not ignore me.
