Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Hi @Former-Member

Mr Darcy has been a diagnostic problem, everything has been atypical. His present upset could be due to a number of factors. As he is high risk, any downturn in condition is of concern to me.

Trust things are steady with you.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Thank you @Determined, am in need of an early night Bro, Mr Darcy is in need of a decent nights sleep as am I. Was so pleased to hear you got a good report from the specialist. How is your Darling?

On that note @Shaz51, trust your infection is clearing and that you are not so tired.

@Former-Member

Darling is doing ok, I am a bit nervous though as she has been saying she doesn't feel right and is taking some of her 'as required' meds so settle her. could be the anxiety over having little people on holidays with me still at uni? She is getting back into her cycling though and that is a positive sign I think. just needs to regain her confidence out on the road.
Just a waiting game and support where I can.

Trust things pick up for Mr Darcy and you, think of you often.

@Shaz51How are things for you and Mr Shaz? thinking of you also.

@Rose96
Glad yesterday went well for you and trust you have bounced back after your moment last night, was good that you had some understanding and support.

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hard to tell what is unsettling our beloveds. When upset and unconsolable Mr Darcy will not tell me what is troubling him. It is the opposite with us @Determined, Mr Darcy does not like prn meds, hopefully he will sleep well tonight.

I think we do worry how our partners would cope if we become unwell ourselves @Rose96 and not only in relation to major decisions but also in day to day affairs.

I fractured my ankle a few years ago and Mr Darcy took over the cooking with gusto, he now considers himself a master chef. Whilst I am grateful for his assistance his cooking was very ordinary, at times dreadful. Post fracture he decided his continuing contribution in the culinary department was necessary. I do not have the heart to complain or stop him, instead I try to gently encourage and complement when he does well, but progress is slow and if we are having visitors I cook or monitor things closely. LoL

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Aww thanks @Former-Member I needed that been walking on a thin ice as he gets paranoid when I'm with my iPad he thinks I'm cheating on him as his ex does before..I don't want to have him having melt downs so i try not to open my iPad unless it's urgent..he is sleeping as of the moment he said he is having difficulties in sleeping..but as I'm monitoring his progress with his medication I find that he is having a normal sleep..he just woke up pretty early coz he sleeps early. he requested for a new meds to his pychariatrist a mood meds..I told him to consult his general doctor first coz he is complaining about his guts most of the time ..luckily he doesn't have liver problem or other ailment.. but we are advice to seek gastro doctor coz of his previous episodes last January where he is put to hospital for what they thought was appendicitis but turns out they can't figure out what it is that causing him to vomit and have soft stools..so much has happen since I came back here in Australia..he enrolled himself as a student for certificate IV for mental health..he said he was inspired while he was at the mental ward.. so hope for the best for him coz he looking forward to it...I on the other hand is going to enroll myself in diploma for accounting. hope the immigration will grant me student visa for this...his moms talking to him now and been trying to coordinate with me ..she is worried coz my visa allows me to stay till June 2 and he might not cope with it again..hence made me decide to contact uni agent for me to enroll and upgrade my knowledge as well ..just weird coz I might look like a woman in midlife crisis in school looking for career change..we'll pray and hope for the best 🙂
