Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hello @PeppiPatty, over here my special friend xx

Hello Everyone

Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

That must be taking a while @Shaz51 perhaps its worth giving them a ring cause it shouldnt take any longer than 6 weeks.

Your mum and i think mr shaz too would qualify for help (so would give you a break too) like some house cleaning, meals prepared like meals on wheels might work for your mum. A community worker i think can help with taking your mum to appointments too.

There are options out there lovely, for now maybe its best to just have a breather. Have a bath and then a hot cuppa with a movie/tv show on just to relax abit

Would it be possible @Shaz51 to get a nurse to be with her, they offer in home care now in nsw for the elderly. I will see what I can find in QLD. Maybe even weekend respite, so you can spend weekends with Mr Shaz?

You could also look into the NDIS your mum might be eligible

Have you spoken with Carer’s Australia @Shaz51 ? They may be able to help you work something out that can keep a sense of belanace with it all, and help and respite / counselling for you when you need it.

❤️
