Love to hear from others on the forum if you experience this

My hubby has been diagnosed with lots of things and has had MI all his life

do you find things goes ok and i start to feel confident and wanting to go forward and then everytime something always happens to upset it -- sometimes I think is it a controlling thing ?? that he wants to be in control ??

Don`t know if I am making this up , but i have that feeling ,

Hello Shaz51 thanks for replying. I never thought I would join a support group but I am realising that I now need someone to talk to who is in a similar position as I am..

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Yes, it is very hard @Shaz51.

Like myself and husband, you and your husband need to be strong "for each other". The onus cannot heavily weigh overly just on the one person. It then can overwhelm and become too much. When the going gets tough you need to lean on someone too. Lean on us. Hugs xx

Apologies if I left someone out, getting to grips with the group and wanted to reply to each individually but guess wrote in the wrong field. So thanks to all who have so far replied ....

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

Hi @Amy2

We all need connection an the ups and down crew are just wonderful.

You can talk about day to day things, ask the questions or share emotions you would have trouble talking about face to face.

If you ask for advice, members can help you put things into perspective. Some are very good at articulating things that you are feeling but are unable to express.

We understand how it feels to be overwhelmed.

I care for my husband (aka Mr Darcy) who has complex MI. He has had many diagnoses and treatments.

@Shaz51 @Determined think I too might have to resort to getting false teeth as too much gritting has worn my own lot down.

Celebrating that I have made it through the weekend with Mr Darcy without us talking about his mental illness.

Darcy

Re: Ups and Downs of Husband`s Mental Illness

hi everyone , I'm glad I'm in this group ..it's kinda my cocoon when I feel like giving up..everyone here gave me courage and understanding of what me and my partner is facing.. as of the moment he is good but once in a while he still have some episodes ..like he gets easily confuse, he gets frustrated easily but the good thing is he is trying not to snap at me and whenever he did he finds way to make it up to me. .doctors appointment for him tomorrow so wish us luck ..I place him on gluten free diet so far so good..no complaints from him so far 🙂

Good morning @Shaz51

Thinking of you this morning as miss Debbie mixes things up for you.
Praying that your Doctors appointment goes ahead and you get the direction you need for mr Shaz.
Trusting the cyclone is not causing too much stress even if you are only on the edge of it.
